#1- when I adjust my brightness (pre-calibration and during) do I adjust my contrast too?

No, never.  Contrast remains at factory default.

#2- are my colors way off, or is the brightness way off, or both? Prints are from WHCC.

I can't possibly tell that without being in the room with you, sorry.  That's your call to make.

    Gosh yes, it's great.

  2. I'm always so happy when I meet someone who doesn't know how to install actions.  It means they're going to be MUCH easier to teach how to edit.

Um, it should simply be a matter of double-clicking the file.  It should automatically install in Photoshop.  Then when you go to Photoshop and look in the Actions panel, it should be there.

But let me know if it isn't.

Hi Damien. On my laptop I have some holiday photos in a folder on my desktop. There are no other folders or files on the desktop apart from recycle bin. ‘My computer’ shows just the photos folder (not the recycle bin), but the folders panel in Bridge is showing a whole bunch of other files (eg dropbox, libraries, user etc). Is there any way to hide these other files? I made the mistake of showing files from sub folders to assign keywords and realised there was a problem when there were thousands of photos showing instead of just the holiday snaps. Thanks

    Screenshot please.
