Screen cooler than prints after callibration

Recommended Posts

I Have followed your instructions today and compared screen to my prints and the screen is still too cool.

My Screen preset is set to normal and is 6920k compared to the required 6500k. this was the closest.

Warm was 5292 and cool was 9979. (isnt is supposed to be the other way round?)

I have a small office on the south side of the house. I did it at about 1.30 with the lights out and the block out blind closed. However it was still not dark dark.

I have a B/W and colour photo to compare with and a set of colour cards

Remind me which Spyder you have?

Lots of people get confused by this.  No, it's correct.  In raw, the numbers are compensatory.  As the temperature number gets higher and cooler in real life, the raw number gets higher and warmer to balance it.  I hope this makes sense.

For now, ignore the black-and-white one.

You need a lot more than just one colour photo.  Really? Surely you have others lying around?

Nope not here at home. I don't really print anything for myself. I am one of those asshole clients that just has digital files in piles.

I have quite a few at the studio. but all from the same job. Grey backdrop was to magenta.
