Try restarting in safe mode: https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/mac-help/mh21245/mac
Then deleting the Spyder profiles.
I appreciate you going out of your way to try to find a Mac solution. I called Apple support and we ran through the safe mode together but it didn't resolve it. I went in and unfortunately had to completely erase my computer and start all over again but it seems to now be resolved. Fingers crossed anyway! I'll attach the new screenshot of my data graph.

I'm sure it's a setting that could be reset somewhere. This whole calibration business has been the most frustrating thing. I'll attempt a Genius Bar appointment and hope it works!
-
Just tried it. It was bright enough at the login screen, then immediately back to dark when the desktop opened.
-
That's the brightest one I've got and it won't work.
-
Could you be more specific? Right now I have Apple XDR Display selected under presets and that seems to be the brightest option. Unless you're talking about something else.
-
Now my screen is so dark that the Spyder won't even calibrate at all because I keep getting an error that the lens cap must not be off. It is, it's just so dark that it won't register. Aagh!

I've tried it both ways. The graph I sent you was for Wide which is what Datacolor recommended in their support solution. I'll try it again in Standard and send you a screenshot of that graph.

I followed your calibration instructions link and at the end went to "next unread topic" and here I am. But the graph still seemed relevant. I'm not sure what to try next.
I did follow the Spyder Elite instructions set. Although, I've done it so many times I think I've got them all memorized.

I contacted Datacolor about the problems I've been having calibrating my screen and they said to "calibrate at 120 cd/m^2 display brightness". Would I plug the 220 into where you had suggested 80 for the white luminance?
-
Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. I've done it a dozen times over, but it seems like something from the first round when I did it incorrectly is sticking. Is there an article or tutorial about how to completely undo whatever it is that was done so that I can start with a clean slate again?
Just ordered prints but they won't arrive for 8-12 days. Is there any way that I can continue reading and learning while I wait? I understand that my photos will all need to be edited after correct calibration can be reached. I just feel like I'm going to be stuck at the white balance check for a good long while at this point.

Okay, I'll do that. I submitted another photo of the Newborn Crown photo after calibrating. The jpeg turned out fine but now my screenshots look bright green after posting. Any insight?

No, I went in myself and explained it was for calibration purposes. Just double checked my receipt and it also says no color correction. Hmm. I just can't find a pattern with them. It's all different in every photo. I ended up recalibrating to the numbers you suggested to see if that made any difference but they're still all different in different ways.

Hi Damien,
I purchased the SpyderX Elite and have run through the instructions over and over again but something still feels off about my prints. The biggest problem that I've been having is that if I make an adjustment to correct one or two images in the Expert Console, it doesn't seem to always have a positive impact on the quality of the other photos. It just doesn't seem to be consistent. One photo has good brightness, but is too warm, another photo and the color is off entirely. I am comparing the photos 90 degrees to turn your head but am sending you a cell photo so that maybe you can at least see the color disparity that I'm seeing. It also may be totally useless but I'm not sure how else I can show you and this obstacle is really holding me up in the class. Thanks!

Those instructions are strictly for PC only.
One of the screenshots I included was of the display settings. One option is Apple XDR Display (P3-1600 nits) or Photography (P3- D65). I thought from the directions that I was meant to choose the D65 option but then it won't allow me to make any adjustment in brightness that I needed for calibration. Which should I select?

Disregard. I did eventually find Datacolor in my applications to delete from there but I'm still getting all sorts of error messages. I've tried to go through the directions and repeat the steps quite a few times now and can't figure out what it is that I'm doing wrong.

I have a MacBook Pro and mistakenly chose wide but standard is likely what's correct?

I received my SpyderX Elite today and followed the calibration instructions but this error pops up after multiple attempts. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software per their website, which didn't work. Then found the response you had previously posted about deleting the "Datacolor" but I can't seem to find it? I deleted Data and tried again but Datacolor wasn't there.

I placed my order with ZNO over two weeks ago and still haven't received them. I emailed customer support there but I'm without prints. Very frustrating process.
