Ok thanks - will make sure on next merge I get all the milky way and see what happens. Can always delete whichever end I don't want if necessary!
-
Posted in levels. This merge didn't work as well as my first with the milky way pretty much end up a straight diagonal line! Would this be because I only used shots from the high/mid point and not any from the left side of the milky way, so the merge couldn't read the overall shape?

Yeah at the top of the milky way? Any where else that you can see? What's the best way to fill the gaps around the edges - I don't really want to crop it down much if I can help it because of the composition? Thanks

This is where I'm at?! What are your thoughts please? What would be the best way to fill the edges? Really need to buy an ultra wide lens

Thanks Hmm this could be interesting

Ok thanks - never done warping?

I'm not happy with the auto photomerge on this one The horizon is good, a couple might need just a bit of moving, but the milky way is straight not arched. I also tried with the Geometric Distortion Correction ticked but then the milky way was good but the horizon was arched! There are probably a couple of pics I can hide but thought I'd wait til I'd checked in here. Any suggestions please?

OMG I've just started blending them together - amazing Back in a bit!

Ah right - yes I could ditch 4 layers - there is a bit of uneveness with the mountain but could probably do a bit of cloning to smooth that out?

Looks ok to me, the dark bit through the core look pretty well aligned.

Hi - 2nd time trying to shoot the milky way last night but lens not wide enough so went for option 2 of taking several pics to try and stitch together into a panorama, never tried this before! Used PS and the Automate>Photomerge option which I think has worked to a degree but not sure what to do next, how to blend edges etc They were all taken with the same settings and batch edited in RAW.

Hi Samantha - thanks for your input Just reading all this now! The lenses I guess are the biggie at the mo & I LOVE my 10 - 22mm so if i go 6D will miss that until I can get a 17 - 40 or whatever. As I'll only have a 50 & 100 until I sell my old gear my next lens would need to be something more multi purpose I think?

Wow thanks for all the info, wish budget wasn't an issue, 5dmk111 is out of reach ha ha! I was originally thinking between the 6d and 7d mk11 but went away from it, not really sure why?! Will have another look. Worth knowing about the original 24 - 70. Am I right in thinking for action pics of dogs one of the 70 - 200's would be my best bet? I know the f4 is a fair bit cheaper than the f2..........

Oh forgot to say hobbyist & limited budget so 6d or 80d price range then hopefully a new lens when I sell my 600d & save a wee bit....darn expensive hobby lol!

Ok so I have the 2 kit ones: efs 18 - 55 & efs 55 - 250, ef the nifty 50 (love), efs 18 - 22 3.5/4.5 (love) & ef 100 macro (non L - love) - am thinking next lens would probably be 24 - 70 & get rid of 18-55. Would love the 70 - 200 'one day'!!!

So hubby is coming round to me upgrading, currently have a 600d, which frustrates me with the very low ISO tolerance. I was thinking the 6d but that would mean I only had 2 lenses to begin with until I could afford more. Then tonight I saw a review for the 80d and thought that might be a better option, although I wonder about the ISO? I am only a hobbyist who shoots mainly landscapes and enjoying some pet photography which I guess the extra focal points & faster shooting rate of the 80d might be useful for. Portraits are just odd pics for friends & family. If I got the 80d I could maybe get a flash? Any thoughts/advice welcome please......this camera would have to last a while
