You helped save a lot of time in second guessing. I was on the right track following your tutorials but obviously something wasn’t adding up until I had your assistance. Thanks so much! I’m almost done with the backdrops and found this helpful as well to blend the backdrop better on the photos that didn’t technically need a full replacement. I just lowered the opacity of the gradient and continued to mask each photo.

and then I have to mask for each file separately to get the best results, correct?

Thank you so much. I've been playing and trying to learn and I have a few questions. I have discovered I can copy/paste the gradient but it doesn't always give expected results. Am I correct in my assumption that I should click on my gradients if copying between files and click "fit to document" to make sure the aspect is aligned? Thanks.

Hello, I am trying to fix up the backdrop in this image. This is uncropped raw edited. I am hoping to smooth out the backdrop and remove the shadow from the backdrop as well. I tried following the tutorial " Preventing banding in backdrops" but I am having difficulties with getting it to blend well. Unfortunately a light got moved during this shoot and I didn't notice until after. So I have multiple images I will need to smooth the backdrop and remove some shadows from the backdrop as well. (Shadows from people, the loveseat, etc) I appreciate any assistance you can offer! Thank you!!

followed your method to do the same with the background shadows and wrinkled fabric at the bottom, how does this shot seem?

I have saved too many versions I've confused myself. I think there is a matte layer that is darkening it, I removed it here.

I did not realize my default changed, I had just recently used it to test out ai features. Here is where I am now but I still think it is looking fake.

no luck, the dropper won't pick up the grey, idk what I did wrong anymore. I sampled at the x for the far right color swatch...

I have used the gradient method before but, I have no clue what I'm doing wrong now. I cannot get the gradient colors to change to grey background when I use the sample tool. I'm so sorry I am struggling with what should be simple. I am tired from trying to figure out how to fix these on my own. 😭

when I use the mixer brush tool it is mixing the subject colors with the background, I'm having a total brain fart after being at the computer too long. How can I avoid this and just get the background shadows to lighten? Here is another example of what I am looking to fix.

Yes that looks much better! Now I need to figure out the best way to smooth the fabric, I tried with your tutorials on other posts with mediocre results

I tried export and save as, also tried exporting from bridge and sending to my phone to post from there. None of that worked, the last photo is the same one that gives the -200 error code using the safari browser. Switching to Chrome I can see the photo now.

I am switching from safari to chrome, this seems to do the trick?
