Calibration was a success. no problems. Test prints matched pretty good. 1st time the RGB numbers were right on point without adjustments. -

Ok, I went on and got this one about 3 weeks ago. ended up having to get it from Micro Center for same price and was in stock. Long 16x9 flat screen. So far so good. I like the real estate for a single screen as I can open multiple windows on one screen and all windows are readable. Previous setup was , 27" screen left and a 32" in the middle on a elevated platform about 7 inches up from the desk and one 27" in Portrait mode on the desk and to the right. With the 40" now centered and a 27" in Portrait mode on the left and both on the elevated shelf, I have a good view and can open most things on the 40". Usually have web page or email open in Portrait on the 27". One of the things I found out after opening it and setting up is the lack of adjustability. Only has a Tilt adj -5 to 20 degree tilt. no Swivel, Pivot, or Height adjustments. At first it was rather concerning but after going back to Micro Center and looking at other large monitors and even flat screen TV's, I found that those also don't really have those type adjustments due to their large size and what can happen by changing how the weight is distributed on a larger screen. Running it at 3440 x 1440 and all windows are readable from my seat. Next thing to do this weekend is to Calibrate it with my Color Checker Display Pro. will report back on that later. -
This is a 40" MSI being sold at COSTCO for $289 right now on sale. Say IPS and Anti- Glare, UWQHD, 3440 x 1440. Anything say don't do it?

Thanks. I ordered 2 Lenovo laptops. A new model with specs to grow into and a Certified Refurbished one that is one gpu level below the one that went bad. It will be my travel box. old one was a 4070 gpu this is a 4060. The new one will be a 5070. Think that will hold me. Also, PLEASE don't let WINDOWS do your firmware updates. it makes BRICKS.

Looking at a MSI Crosshair 18” with what they call IPS Level display panel. Bought a nice Lenovo in Nov 2023 that just died after warranty expired last year. Tried to stay with Lenovo and their new 2025 models, all but 1, have adopted the OLED glare displays. The one they have with IPS won’t ship till Sept. This is from a Google search: AI Overview +1 The MSI Crosshair 18 HX AI A2XW is a gaming laptop featuring an 18-inch QHD+ (2560x1600) IPS-Level display with a 240Hz refresh rate. It is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU. The laptop also includes 16GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1TB NVMe PCIe Gen4 SSD for storage. It runs on Windows 11. Your thoughts? also looked at ASUS ROG and don’t like the numlock keys as part of the trackpad. Weird. This is to the MSI spec page. https://us.msi.com/Laptop/Crosshair-18-HX-AI

Got a new 27in MSI G274QPF monitor. (IPS, Anti Glare, etc). got latest software for Calibrite Colorchecker Display Pro. Get all the way to the brightness adjustment. Set Target Luminance to 80. Measured Luminance is 213 at default setting for Brightness at 68. Adjust Brightness to lowest setting of 0 and Measured Luminance only goes down to 135. What are my options at this point? Ordered from B&H.. Best price all around for I9 and RTX 4070. Others have said the used 64GB and no issues. Will watch the prices of DDR5 @2x32GB and deal with it as pries fall or needs come up. Thanks for you words of wisdom. -

Just got off a chat with Lenovo Support after seeing that all the offerings only show memory upgrading to a ax of 32GB. They said that is correct. I don't see the Legion 5 Pro on Amazon being offer with 64GB but they are coming from after market companies. Checked MicroCenter, BestBuy, B&H, etc and they all max out at 32GB. Any idea why 32GB is max? At todays standards I would need to buy another one next year. Also NVMe SSD max up to 1TB. This is very disheartening to find out. Was about to order this one today: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1745682-REG/lenovo_82wk0083us_16_legion_pro_5i.html Wonder if it is the Chipset they are using: Chipset Chipset Intel HM770 chipset All Lenovo offerings: https://psref.lenovo.com/Product/Legion/Legion_Pro_5_16IRX8 Memory Max Memory[1] Up to 32GB DDR5-4800 offering Up to 32GB DDR5-5600 offering Memory Slots Two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots, dual-channel capable Memory Type** DDR5-4800[2] DDR5-5600 Notes: 1.
