  1. I have a Mac desktop running OS X El Capitan and Photoshop CC. It is over 2 years old, and has 24GB of RAM. Its hard drive has 285.33GB free out of 999.35GB. The last time I shut down was more than 24 hours ago. I have never run a cleanup program.

I am trying to edit several images in photoshop. I need to add snow (in multiple layers) to all of the files, but it's creating huge files that are slowing my computer down and causing photoshop to freak the f out. I don't want to flatten in the files in case I need to make additional adjustments, but I am finding it difficult to so anything since they won't even save. Should I be editing the jpeg files instead? What am I doing wrong? HELP
