  1. Thanks so much, Brian! Your expertise and your willingness to share it are a blessing! 🙂
  2. I'm sure it isn't perfect, but it's under $1K (US), so is it passable? Thanks!
  3. Thanks, Brian. You are a prophet of doom, but I won't hold it against you! 😂 I think I'll just try to put it off for a while longer and cross my fingers that prices come back down before my need becomes dire.
  4. I've switched gears and am looking into having a desktop built. Here's what my friend has come up with. I hope it comes through legible enough. (Prices are US$.) Is there anything that's too much or too little or not the right thing? If it's all just right, is there anything I should think about pushing a little higher?
  5. Thanks! Back to the drawing board... 😉
  6. Yes, yes...I know...not the ideal for photo editing. But photo editing is only a tiny bit of what I do, and usually for ephemeral items (nonprofit fundraising materials), so ideal isn't really necessary for me. I just figured that the same specs might be a good guideline for my usual work, mostly in InDesign. I've looked at Brian's posts about what to look for, or tried to, but this stuff might as well be written in ancient Sumerian cuneiform for all I'm able to comprehend it. ðŸĪŠ Anyway, somebody recommended that I look at Razer laptops, and I found this one on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Blade-15-Base-Laptop/dp/B09KXK5S4G. Does it tick all the boxes? And is there any way of telling whether it could handle two external monitors? Thanks in advance for any assistance...or for directions to the closest exit if my question is in any way unwelcome. 😁
