  1. Good to know. I will re print and also have my previous photos printed there as well to see if theres been a change. The ones i received today just seemed so dull and cool. Nothing like my my previous prints. I will let you know what the results are!

  2. unfortunately no! I will see if I can get a new callibrater.

Should D75 be quite cool? It does look much cooler after compared to what my screen was. My outdoor prints seem to match much better than the prints done in my studio.

Im also wondering if my print lab had a bad batch, as my previous prints are matching much better than the ones i got today.

  3. Unfortunately I dont have another computer as it just broke. I hope the device isn't faulty, its only been used a few times since purchasing it! Should there be an option that is higher than D75 or should my screen be quite cool that target. I can reach out to the place it was purchased from and see if they can send a replacement. I recently switched from a macbook air to PRO. On my air it seemed to match quite well. Could it be something with the pro?

  4. Hi Damien,

Ive tried calibrating 3 times now.
My last calibration my screen measured 7535k, its still pretty warm compared to my prints. I divided it by 100 and got 75.  I have already tried calibrating it at D75, however it states if its still to warm to go even higher. There is no option high than D75. Any tips? The brightness seems good. Its just my prints that almost look like the clients skin is more pink, and on my screen they look more yellow/warm.

    Thank you!

  5. Hi Damien!

I recently purchased a 2021 MacBook Pro 2021, I had a MacBook Air previously. I calibrated my screen with my colourchecker display device and saved the profiles. However on my Macbook Pro I can’t seem to select any colour profiles in the display settings as I did with my air. Am I doing this wrong? I’ll attach the display settings below.

    thank you!

Hi, thanks so much for this tutorial Damien.

I am working with a 2018 MacBook Pro and I have the ColorMunki xRite Display system.

As I follow along, I see that I'm not given the option for display type...I don't see the White LED etc option. Help.

    Hi Damien,

I cannot find the drop down to select white LCD either. My screen looks like the previous attached photo by Anushka. Can you please let me know where to find this?

    Thank you!!

  7. I had printed a couple photos where the client was wearing red, and when seeing if they matched to the prints the reds on the screen seemed more saturated than the actual print. Not by a ton, but noticeable for me.

Another photo was of my nephew and he has darker skin, which is being recognized as orange when editing. On the screen he looks more saturated than on the print if that makes sense. Like I said, it’s not a huge amount of I do notice it!

  8. Just placed an order for it!

Would you be able to give me your thoughts on my workspace? I’ve read your article about ambient light, which is something I honestly never even thought of. I’ve been trying to make our basement the only place to edit to stay consistent, as we hardly get any natural light through the one window down here, so it’s the closest I can get to a “windowless nook”. Our basement has two light fixtures, each with 3 5000k daylight bulbs in them. The lights are able to turn in different directions as well. I’ll attach some photos of my set up below, and would greatly appreciate your thoughts and what I should change.

Don't mind the mess, kids, and we run another business, so it’s an all in one playroom/workspace.

    Thanks again!

  9. Hi Damien,

My apologies if you have answered this question, I'm still very much learning in regards to calibration. Which calibration device would you recommend for a MacBook Air with M1 chip, retina display? Ive been looking at the Spyder X Pro & Spyder X Elite.  Is there one recommended more over the other for this laptop, or another one you would recommend?

My prints came back darker than whats on my screen, and the colour seems slightly off. My screen colour profile is currently set to Colour LCD.

    Thank you for your time,

    Rachael
