  1. Damien, I found it. It was something I totally missed. The add to button for selections was checked and I didn't realize it. Once I switched it to the normal selection, it works like it's suppose to. Just thought I'd let you know in case it ever happens to anyone else.
  2. Thanks for trying. I appreciate it. I'll keep playing and see if I can find something.
  3. That works just fine. I was just trying some other things and if I right click on the mouse I have the option to deselect. It's been awhile since I've used my mouse to edit so I don't know if that is new or not.
  4. I can tap to deselect with the marquee tool. With the mouse using the patch tool, it doesn't deselect. I must have changed a setting somewhere, but I don't know which one.
  5. I don't know if this happened with the 2018 update or if I changed a setting, but I need help. I am using Photoshop CC 2018 with a Wacom tablet on a Windows PC. I've always been able to use my pen and tap the tablet to deselect a selection. Now the only way I can do it is by pressing Ctrl D. How can I get it back to be able to tap to deselect?
  6. That was it. Thanks, guess it took a 2nd set eyes. I worked for over 2 hours trying to figure it out, I should have asked earlier and saved myself the frustration.
  7. I did and still nothing. I tried it on another layer and the brush tool seems to be part of the problem. It is showing color picker and I've reset it and make sure it was on brush. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
  8. I have added a solid layer with mask. For some reason I can't invert the mask and the brush tool isn't being recognized. I've reset Photoshop to defaults and it's still doing the same thing. Anyone have any ideas what is going on?
