    I have done a pet Santa photo session. I used two flashes with shoot through umbrellas. The amount of ambient light will be a factor. Personally I think the set up you have described (with the light behind you) will work just fine. Have fun. I know the parents will be thrilled with the photos.

    If Santa can wear fake glasses minus the glass it certainly helps with the glare.
