  1. I guess I don't. Just wanted to keep the new computer clean with no unnecessary files 😆
  2. No not in there. I have no idea where they are saving to. I tried just searching the name I saved them as but nothing comes up 🤔
  3. I just went at it again and this time went with D75 and Lum 60. I think I missed d75 because it looks almost perfect. One more question though, where do I find all the saved profiles that I just made? They don't appear in the display settings.
  4. I've done my calibration using my old calibrator but I'm not getting the desired results. First I used Native and 80 but it was on the cooler and brighter side. So I also tried luminance of 60 and tried each of the white points. The problem I'm finding, is that my prints look more green than my screen. My screen is more red. I also find that the brightness of my screen is always too bright if I match the target brightness. Whereas if I just lower the screen brightness down quite low, then it matches the brightness of my prints better. However, this means it is way below target. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. My screen is a new Studio Display. I'm using a xrite color munki and the ccstudio.
  5. No 🙈. I’ll try it out tomorrow. I just thought that since it was an old one that it wouldn’t work with the new one. I’ll have to download i1 studio and see if it works with sonoma.
  6. Hi Damien, My new computer has arrived - Mac Studio with Studio Display. My old calibrator that I used on my iMac 2019 is most likely not going to work properly (had an old color munki), so I need to purchase a new one. I have looked at your article on what to buy and unfortunately your main recommended ones are a bit over budget after spending what I could on the new computer 😬. I was looking at the other 2 you recommended, Spyder X Pro and Calibrite Display SL. Is there one that you would recommend over the other for my screen? I would have loved to have picked one up this weekend (In brisbane, AUS) so I could start editing next week but doesn't appear that many places stock them. Thanks, Tahnee
  7. 64gb it is 😆 I’m sure it’s going to be better than my 2019 i5 24gb 😁
  8. Thanks Brian. I have just got a d850 and realising how big the files are. I was rocking my d750 before. I’m a newborn and family photographer so no panoramas here. I guess with how fast adobe are advancing, I’m wondering if 96 ram would be better, knowing that it can’t be upgraded later. In saying that, it’s an extra $600AU compared to the 64. The apple care for 3 yrs for the screen and the Mac Studio is about $400AU. Unfortunately we don’t get a yearly payment option. None that I have seen anyway. I think I’ll be fine with the m2. I just want to be able to download the latest photoshop and speed up my workflow 😄
  9. Hi Brian, I'm finally in a position to upgrade my iMac and purchase a new one. I have gone through your post about purchasing a new iMac and will go with the mac studio instead of mini. Question about the ram. You mentioned you would go 96GB ram for yourself, would 64gb be ok? Or do you suspect the additional ram will be needed down the track? In Australia, it's also only offering a 7 day trial of apple care, once finished, you then purchase the full apple care. With the m3 chip possibly coming out later in the year, will it make much of a difference to how many years I get out of the mac compared to the m2 chip? Ideally I want to purchase this mac within the next month. Thanks Tahnee
  10. Thanks Brian. I was afraid of that. All good though. I will hold off for now. It’s working well so I’ll leave it alone 😆. I’ll upgrade the Mac in the next year or so 😊
  11. Hi Brian, I'm am wondering if you can tell me if my mac is powerful enough to handle upgrading to the latest photoshop? I'm currently using 23.5.5 and it works great, however, I would love to have access to the new AI features that photoshop has made available. Hence wanting to upgrade. I have used about 460gb out of 1tb of storage. Thank you
  12. Thanks for your reply Brian. I'm a bit late with my reply too! I haven't had any issue so far with photoshop but my iMac does tell me I have an update (I'm assuming it's the next OS), however, I can't check it because it just spins and says checking for updates. My graphics says Radeon Pro 570X 4GB. I have 24GB of memory (2x 8GB and 2 x4GB).
  13. Update: I worked out that all my files were in 'other', under 'previous content'. So I did another time machine backup on a new external drive. Once I knew I had all my files backed up on two separate drives, I erased my iMac using disc utility on startup (holding cmd R once I turn it on and holding until the apple logo appears). Then I reinstalled Big Sur. All my files, apps, and settings are back where they used to be. I haven't opened photoshop yet but hopefully that's all good too.
  14. Hi, I have a 2019 27in iMac and it was running Catalina. I wanted to upgrade to Big Sur but my update was constantly spinning and never showing any updates. I tried trouble shooting and did the following - Clear cache - Reboot in safe mode - Reset NVRAM - Reset SMC - this is where I think I truly messed up. It took my computer back to Mojave. It gave me options to restore from Time Machine or upgrade OS. I chose OS. I upgraded to Catalina and then upgraded to Big Sur. I can’t see any of my files or apps anymore but there is stuff definitely there. When I look at the storage, there is only 426gb available from 1tb. Majority is in a section called ‘other’. Any idea on what I did wrong? I did back up my computer using Time Machine before I did this mess up. Thanks Tahnee
  15. I'm not sure how to delete this, but it seems to have sorted itself out. Turned it on this morning and it was all good. Thanks anyway
  16. Hi, I was wondering if someone could please help me with my iMac not showing updates. It says there is an update but when I go into software update, it constantly spins and says checking for updates. I am currently using a 2019 iMac and running Catalina. I believe I have enough storage....approx 400GB of 1TB remaining. Thanks
  17. Thanks Brian, Currently on hold with Apple to get a quote on both items
  18. Thank you so much for your reply Brian. My initial thought was power supply as I had googled the problem I was having and that seemed to be the most common cause. However, the computer tech I spoke to disagreed. I have started turning my computer off at the wall after I shut it down. So far it hasn't been doing any random shut downs. If I continue to have problems with it, I will take it to an apple centre instead. Thanks again for your time, much appreciated.
  19. Hi Brian , I currently have a 27in iMac late 2012 with 8gb ram. I bought it second hand about a year and half ago and it has been randomly shutting down in the last few months. A local tech seems to believe it needs a new GPU and has quoted me around ($500AU), however I'm hesitant to fork out that money if it doesn't fix the problem. Would you recommend trying the fix or a new computer? If a new computer, what should I be looking at? I currently use it for editing large RAW files in photoshop. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Tahnee
