  1. Brian I have someone building me a PC and these are the parts we are putting in it. Thoughts? Anything I should change?
  2. Ok Perfect, Do you not recommend SSD Drives at all? only HDD right?
  3. Makes sense, So is there anything missing from this last one I just linked? Do you think this would last me at least 6-7 years? And does it look like it would work with the Monitor you recommended above?
  4. Before I go with building one what do you think of this one? https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/acer-nitro-gaming-pc-intel-core-ci7-8700-16gb-optane-2tb-hdd-16gb-ram-nvidia-gtx-1060-windows-10/12642269.aspx?
  5. Ok perfect, I'm going to see if I can have someone build me one as I can't seem to find one already built to suit my needs, I'll also get a new monitor then might as well get the best of the best while I'm at it lol. What CPU chip should I get?
  6. Brian, What do you think of this one? https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/cyberpowerpc-cyberpowerpc-ultra-gua600-gaming-pc-amd-fx-6300-2tb-hdd-16gb-ram-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1050-ti-eng-gua600/10528291.aspx? It's on sale right now $999.00(Canadian) I'm thinking of maybe waiting until black friday to see what I can get or getting someone to custom build me a new one. I love my monitor I have now so I guess it's important to make sure the new PC will have the regular 15 pin VGA port because it's what I have on this monitor and I don't really want to buy a new one. and What are you thoughts on 16mb ram vs 32mb? should I focus on more or is 16mb ok I just don't want to be doing this again in two years lol
  7. Brian what do you think of this one? https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/alienware-aurora-desktop-pc-intel-i7-8700-1tb-hdd-16gb-ram-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1060-6gb-gddr5-windows-10/12321210.aspx?icmp=Recos_3across_tp_sllng_prdcts
  8. P.S. I got suckered into that 128gb SSD on my last PC and that's what is totally full and slowing me down now ughhhh I won't make that same mistake twice lol
  9. Awesome Ok perfect I will go check out what is available in town tomorrow. Thanks for your input.
  10. So I found this post from last year would your recommendations still apply or is there something better out there now that I should get? I don't have a budget really but lets say $2000 and under (Canadian).
  11. Hi Brian, I've upgraded to CC2018 version this weekend and my already slow computer is now running at a snails pace and driving me nuts. I think it's time for an upgrade. I need a new PC and would like recommendations on what to get. I basically run ACR and PS on CC2018 for editing and check my mail, FB and upload my pictures to Smugmug for client galleries. This is my main use for this PC. I do a lot of editing and need to speed things up I don't have a lot of time to edit anymore and now it's even worse. Please help me find something. I'm not sure I want Dell though I read through some earlier threads and most of the recommendations are Dell. Just curious why?
  12. Thank you so much though at least now my PC is cleaner and I will get some files off of it this weekend to speed things up.
  13. It wasn't working but then I check the pop up where it says what it is going to copy over and all the RAW boxes I usually use were unchecked....so I clicked them all off and VOILA!! it works, I have no idea why those were all unchecked. I never touch that part.
  14. Ok I ran the program and I'm now 46GB free of 149 on C: Drive and 541 GB free on Data Drive.
  15. I have a PC desktop running Windows 8 and Photoshop CC. It is under 2 years old, and has 8GB of RAM. Its hard drive has 27.6GB free out of 149GB. The last time I shut down was earlier today. I have never run a cleanup program.
  16. Nope doesn't work either in ACR ughhh I use this all the time and it's so frustrating I have no idea what I did. I'll reboot again and see.
  17. It's there and I'm able to click it....but when I open the file it didn't take on the settings I've pasted. I'm going to try the ACR Sync to see if that works.
  18. Hi Damien, I used to be able to make a raw adjustment to one file and then if there was a series that were the same I would right click (Develop settings + Copy Data) and then I would right click Develop Settings + Paste Data and it would apply all the same adjustments as the first picture in ACR. Now for the past two days it's not working at all?....any Idea how to fix it I'm on CC and PC. Thanks
