Both are running Windows 10. Laptop is a new HP Omen with 16 gb RAM. Desktop is AsusM32c 8 gb DDR4, bought in 2016.

EHD is Toshiba Canvio Connect II 2TB Portable Hard Drive (Black) Ordered March 7, 2016 I get the error message on both, but it will finally open. I have no idea what a partition is in this case. I think I just started using it straight off the truck. The files are important to me. I'm ordering a new one as soon as I finish typing this message. Yes, both should have administrator rights. Flu sucks, but I've decided it's food poisoning. I'm much better, but not 100% today. I suppose I'll need instruction on what to do when the new EHD gets here so I don't have this problem again. You're a peach!

Good morning Brian! I'm having trouble switching my external hard drive between my laptop and my pc. It will tell me that I lack permission, and that I must hit continue to run as an administrator. All seems well, but sometimes it won't open files and there's just a question mark instead of a thumbnail. Also, when I switch computers, it will tell me that my recycle bin is corrupt, and it won't let me continue until I empty it. I don't even know if any of this will make sense to you, as I'm recovering from the flu and I've only been able to handle one cup of coffee in the last 3 days! Your help is appreciated!

Sorry, I have taken so long to reply. I've been at the hospital with a sick granny. I hadn't seen that page. I'll try it. Also, I will install Bridge and learn to use it. I had installed it before, but hadn't wanted to have to learn something else. I'm cranky in my old age, you know. I'll do better. Thanks so much for everything!

Yes. Windows 10 shows the thumbnails. As does PSE 11.

I hooked the camera up to the computer and I used a USB card reader. Neither worked. I'm out of ideas! Should I delete the software and re-install?

I will stop saving as a jpeg! I remember seeing this early on in the beginning, but filed it away as overwhelming!

Yes. I have the files on both the sd and the cf cards. I haven't imported by hooking the camera up directly. It's happening with 2 different cards. Ok. Have a happy party! I've found a temporary method that is working slowly, but it's working. Thanks for your help.

Imported the same way as always. I don't even know another way to do it. I plugged the card into the card slot in front of the computer. I only shot RAW, but save the edited file as a jpg.

No. The jpg and the xmp files don't show. It shows the little arrow that shows there is a version stack, but no picture.

Yes. I can open them and edit them just fine. I still have an older version of PSE, and the thumbnails are fine there.

I can see the old ones, just not the new ones. PSE is fully updated as well.

I got my 5DMIII in February and have been using PSE 15 without any problems since February. But now, all of a sudden, the thumbnails won't generate in the Organizer. I don't think I've done anything different with my camera, PSE, or computer settings. I cleaned, emptied every cache I could find, ran CCleaner and defragged. What's the deal?
