  1. I would like to but together a list of options of backup options for my clients. I use a RAID and Amazon for backup but was looking for some options that are a bit easier and lower cost for clients (for their personal images) I get messages all the time of clients that have lost their images off of their phones or they never take images off their cameras. Any suggestions?
  2. I hope this is the right area to ask. I just got a new laptop, it has windows 10. So far I have been figuring things out ok, until it came to importing photos. I am not loving this area at all. I miss the windows 7 impost dialogue box. In 10 it is importing with only the year and month, I need the day as well (can I change this?) I have been searching but so far I can't find a straight answer. Thanks so much.
  3. Thanks so much. Are there any other models you would suggest or is this one even of the bee knees.
  4. I use an external Dell monitor so I was even leaning towards a smaller screen (my Dell laptop now feels like a tank lol) http://www.staples.ca/en/Asus-ROG-GL552VW-DH71-15-6-Gaming-Laptop-Intel-Core-i7-6700HQ-2-6GHz-16GB-RAM-1TB-HDD-Windows-10/product_1964381_2-CA_1_20001 This is the one I am leaning towards but not totally sure yet. http://www.staples.ca/en/Asus-ROG-GL752VW-DH71-17-3-Gaming-Laptop-Intel-Core-i7-6700HQ-2-6GHz-16GB-RAM-1TB-HDD-Windows-10/product_1964384_2-CA_1_20001 This one has the 2 additional slots to upgrade. http://www.staples.ca/en/Asus-ROG-G752VL-DH71-17-3-Gaming-Laptop-Intel-Core-i7-6700HQ-2-6GHz-16GB-RAM-1TB-HDD-Windows-10/product_1964133_2-CA_1_20001 Thanks so much for your help.
  5. Thanks I have NAS that I have everything backed up to (minus the emails, never thought about backing those up) I have been looking at 3 systems, the difference between 2 seem to just be the screen size and the 3rd looks like it has 2 additional slots to upgrade the ram in the future. The one I am looking at as 16GB now with the possiblitly to upgrade to up to 64GB. Is it worth the additional $500 to have the option to upgrade or should I skip it? My concern is that once I get to the spot that I want to upgrade to that size, I will want to upgrade the entire machine for other additional features as well. Thanks Barb
  6. After doing some poking around here, I think I'm just going to upgrade. This post can be deleted.
  7. I purchased a Dell XPS L702X approx 5 years ago, it's a good to me up until lately. Now it is running low, freezing all the time and randomly turns off if it is not plugged in if I am running to many things (even with a full battery) It has been serviced 2x's in the last 5 months Specs Intel(R) Core (TM) i7-2630QM CPU @2.00GHz Memory - 8.00 Gb Grahics - Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 Gaming graphics - 1696 MB 1Tb - 700 on each C and D System type- 64-bit operating 4 processor cores I'm at a loss as to if I should upgrade or if I should try a different place to service it. Thanks so much for any advice
