  1. Mainly landscape but I do like to get some people shots. I was more thinking for this as a landscape/water assistant.
  2. I am looking to build my Xmas wish list and thought ND filter and/or polarizing filter would be a good choice to add. What are your thoughts? Brands? Don't do it? (Edited the subject to correct lens)
  3. Thanks so I am asking Datacolor if it is still an option for me.
  4. Thank you. I will calibrate both... I only have the Spyder Pro 4 so there is that limitation. I only see that the LG may respond faster than the Dell but my eyes may not notice that. All else seems the same.
  5. I have a Dell U2212HM monitor and a LG 22MP56HQ monitor. Which of these is better and that I should calibrate with my Spyder Calibrator? I originally thought the Dell wasn't IPS but it is. It was donated to me so I assumed it was just OK to use.
  6. Followup. Brought my D810 and the Sigma Art 35mm lens. Won the lottery IMO with my hubby telling me I need to get some zoom lenses... 24 - 70mm and the 70-200 mm lenses. Approval to purchase! I really love my 35mm lens but for vacations, I think the zoom lenses are the way to go.
  7. I didn't think you were picking on me. I also live in Northern British Columbia, Canada so those rental options are out for me. There are a few in Vancouver but I won't have time to get to them both ends of my trip. Such is life. The 24-70 is next on my list as my vacation lens.
  8. Thanks Brian. I did order another battery and we are staying in a resort. Will be bringing the craptop and use it for storage. Honestly do understand that I don't want to spend all my time taking photos. I'm checking to see if renting a lens for 16 days is an option from where I live.
  9. I'm going on vacation and will be taking my camera with me (Mexico). Any suggestions with what to use to move images from the SD to storage? I am bringing my craptop for my hubby for his business continuity (crappy purchase in 2009). I know there are external hdd options to transfer directly from one storage to another without a computer. Any suggestions? Also... would you bring your camera to Mexico? D810, Sigma Art 35 mm, might take the kit lens from my D50 70 - 300 mm 3.5 - 5.6. Thanks for any tips, suggestions. Cheers
  10. Thanks Brian. The Neewer one is so much cheaper. I think I will try that and see how it goes.
  11. I just purchased a Nikon D810 and want to get a remote wireless trigger. Firstly, I am looking to take photos of northern lights etc where I can control when the shutter . Secondly, maybe also have remote flash trigger as well. I am not sure if I need to go with Nikon brand with this or not. I have been looking at the SMDV RFN-4s from Amazon.ca for wireless trigger. Do you have any recommendations?
