  1. Thank you this is great info & have had a read. I currently have the calibrite display pro HL, which I see is one of the two top tier he suggest. However, it doesn't have the ambient light feature the Spyder X2 Elite has. I'm wondering if I give this a shot being my prints are warmer.
  2. Thanks Brian this is great information. I had a chat with Queensberry today to talk about the problems I'm having. They said they use this calibrator, it monitors the room ambient light etc. https://www.datacolor.com/spyder/products/spyder-x-elite/ Before I go out & buy this, what are your thoughts on this one? As I'm having a problem with my prints being warmer than my screen I would consider the swap, but would love a penny for your thoughts on this calibrator.
  3. I'm having a few issues getting my prints to match my screen. My screen is cooler than my prints. If I'm using Adobe 1998 for the lab, I should convert to sRGB before uploading? I tried this yesterday & the two files are very different. I find all this colour space stuff very confusing.
  4. The U2723QE is an upgrade from my current screen? DELL U2419H
  5. Thanks Brian. Off hand do you know if my current screen is IPS? 95% or better sRGB coverage - the lab I use here in New Zealand works in Adobe 1998 colourspace. I prefer the price of the second screen & your happy this checks the boxes?
  6. Hi Brian, I have a DELL U2419H monitor, which is a few years old. I was wondering what is your recommendations for an updated monitor? I have always used DELL & I have Calibrite DISPLAY PRO HL calibrator. Thank you.
  7. A long time ago you pointed me in the direction of instructions for glary utilities, I can't remember how to find them. This time I will write them down 🙈
  8. Hi Damien, We can use Queensberry templates for our advertising, but I can't work out how to get my image in this matted print? There doesn't seem to be any instructions on their website & no one is there until Monday. Is this something you could point me in the right direction? It is a PSD file with one layer. I have used place embedded file.
  9. I'm a Canon R5. So when they say high resolution & web, just resize to 2048px on longest side?
  10. Hi Damien, I have a question about web images. If I was doing a business branding session & the company wanted high-resolution files & files that they can upload to the web (ie no specific place of upload, either there website, facebook, email etc etc). What is the correct way to re-size these?
  11. Hi Damien, I read a post about RAW file sizes the other day, it was about how big they are ie from my Canon R5 camera. I see my camera has RAW & cRAW, what is the difference between RAW & cRAW? Are they smaller I have been using RAW & wondered if I should swap
  12. No, but these were & the background is black. Don't worry, I will find another way to do it. https://bythehorns.co.nz/collections/shop-by-style/products/sheba?variant=32920811896925 https://bythehorns.co.nz/products/stronsay-ii?variant=32920782143581 https://bythehorns.co.nz/products/stronsay-in-the-night?variant=39362899378269
  13. I get it doesn't exist. But how does everyone else make the background of their photos black.... Most of these were taken in paddocks, it must be do-able?
  14. Yes, but anyway to make it black background?
