  1. That fixed it - thanks so much Brian! good to know about Firefox....I think it may become my default
  2. Thanks for responding Brian, So I didn't know that we had to repair disk permissions - that's new to me.... so never would be the answer to that question Safari downloads to the download folder. The download folder has me as "read and write" and everyone has "no access" I did try "save as" and chose an external hard drive with the same result Just tried Firefox and it worked! so do we ditch safari and stick with Firefox? or is there something that needs repairing that really should be done....?
  3. Hi Brian - hoping you can help, advise or give some direction ( but please please please not that I need a new computer!!! ) I have a Mac desktop running Mac OS BigSur 11.6.6 and Photoshop CC2022. It is over 2 years old, and has 8GB of RAM. Its hard drive has 1.67 TB free out of 2.12 TB. The last time I shut down was earlier today. I run a cleanup program Clean My Mac about once a week. I am trying to download and keep coming up with the message that "Safari could not download the file because the disk doesn't have enough free space." it's actually a 6.9Mb file of Damiens that he posted on FB with layers changing background. Ive taken just about all my photos off my Mac to an external drive and have just under a TB free in space on the hard drive - what else can I do to fix this? PS its midnight here so I am turning off for the night but will check back tomorrow......
