  1. Ha! Such a simple solution. Thank you!
  2. Thank you! Yes, that's the area I am not satisfied with. Can you tell me how to make it look right?
  3. Oops. Never mind the overlay on the ladder. That's an experiment that I forgot to turn off.
  4. I'd love to de-clutter the background a bit in this photo. I've attached the original SOOR and my pixel editing so far. Does it look plausible? Do you have a better idea?
  5. Thank you Damien. I couldn't get it quite as clean looking as yours...
  6. Before I do anything with this photo, what can I do about the corners. Just mindless cloning? Also, the dip in the fabric in front of her face is bugging me. Any way to even that out?
  7. Ok. Thanks. That sounds much better than my idea - I choose the biggest file.
  8. yes. I've inspected them at the pixel level both in ACR and PS and they seem to be exactly the same.
  9. My hard drive crashed and in the recovery process, I got duplicates of some files. As I'm going through the files to delete excess, I notice that they all have a different number for the MB, but the dimensions are the same. Here's an example: File 1: 3888 x 2592, 61.32MB File 2: 3888 x 2592, 200 MB File 3: 3888 x 2592, 12.80 MB When I zoom in 100%, they look exactly the same. Which file do I keep? Is the number for MB arbitrary when the dimensions are the same?
  10. How about now? I also tired to add back some of the bokeh in the trees that was lost by the blur.
  11. Initially I liked it. But an hour later I thought the same thing.
  12. Huh. No shortcuts. I don't think I'll be doing this background blur often.
  13. I love how this looks. Would it work on my photo? I tried an overlay like in your rich orange look but it doesn't look like the linked photo at all. Here are two more photos with the look I want: https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fglavcom.ua%2Fimg%2Fgallery%2F4194%2F36%2F250164_main.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fglavcom.ua%2Fphoto%2Fdivovizhni-fotografiji-yaki-zobrazhuyut-nevinnist-i-prostotu-ditinstva-419436.html&docid=2Im7eeIgkx8TzM&tbnid=Ocx14B3IyXSZkM%3A&vet=10ahUKEwihhY7svY3YAhVL0oMKHXzMBPUQMwgoKAEwAQ..i&w=713&h=509&itg=1&hl=en&bih=968&biw=1704&q=award winning images photography&ved=0ahUKEwihhY7svY3YAhVL0oMKHXzMBPUQMwgoKAEwAQ&iact=mrc&uact=8 My attempt looks nothing like the above.
  14. Thank you, Brian. It's my second, un-calibrated monitor that has the VGA port. And it has only that port. There's nothing I can do about that, is there? Besides getting a different monitor, I mean.
  15. Hi Brian, I want to hook up two monitors to my computer. One has a HDMI cable, the other a VGA. The HDMI is connected and works fine but the computer doesn't detect the VGA one. Is it possible to connect both? What do I need to do? Windows 10 HDMI monitor: Asus VG278Q VGA: Samsung SyncMaster P2070 Thank you.
  16. Damien, I've tried to figure out how to re-create the fake beams of light but all I can do is drag that layer to my photo. Care to enlighten me?
  17. Ok, I choose a lighter color. How does it look? Looks realistic to me, but then again, I don't see what you see.
  18. And I have to leave now. I'll be back in 3 hours hopefully.
  19. I do have a calibrator and have calibrated to Mpix. I am quite happy with the comparison. The reason for the calibrator sidebar might be because it's an older version that my husband "forced" to work.
  20. I have now, Damien. The baby I had planned to take it with bailed on me. Plucked my son in front in front of it so I could post something. This is SOOR.
