  1. Hi I just calibrated my laptop in my new flat and the results when compared to my prints look very similar. I'm wondering i it makes sense even though the calibration results show warmer than you mention in the tutorial and the luminance much less than the target. I have attached screenshots of my results.
  2. ok great will try again (not this min) and keep u posted! Thanks again
  3. i must try again then and see if it was slightly on the next screen... so it shouldnt move over to the next screen correct?
  4. Hmm i dont know. i launched the iprofiler and didnt move it so would imagine it was only on the desktop screen but i do not know now because i didnt look out for it!!
  5. It didnt allow me to. the main screen can be dragged but once i pressed start measurement it popped up onto the next screen and didnt allow me to drag. i couldnt even exit it. Thank goodness for the taskbar on the bottom of the other screen i was able to close it!
  6. Good Morning Yes i did it late last night, it didnt work with both screens on display because it would split across the 2 screens! one screen the main page and next screen where u need to place the calibrator on. Could be if i would have put the laptop on the left side of my desktop then it would have been split in a good way but it was too complicated to start moving everything around with all my wires... So i redid on desktop only and its still way better than when we started but not perfect. I am not going to do the soft proofing now since i am leaving israel shortly and starting with a new lab in the uk. Do you expect the pink skin tones to improve after soft proofing or just the more bright vivid colours?
  7. ok thank you so much for everything. Good night
  8. still no change and only displaying windows on my laptop.
  9. ok fine no prob. Glad were getting there!!!! Now when i open my laptop i dont see anything on the desktop besides a black screen with the taskbar items but when i press on it it only shows up on the laptop - i imagine theres another setting to change ???
  10. oh wow ok ive never done that because i wana save space on my desk and not bothers to have one thing open at a time e.g if i need something from a folder ill just open it ontop of my Photoshop screen and go ahead...!!! but if ive got to do that i will! have u got an article or maybe u can just tell me in a few words y both screens need to be open for the calibration to work?
  11. oh gosh so the laptop screen has to be open at all times??? before i start calibrating i should open laptop screen?
  12. Thanks for such clear instructions!! I was on that but the reason it was only showing one screen is because my laptop screen i keep closed. So now i opened it and yes it was showing only "1/2" so i changed it to what you said. i pressed apply and now i closed my laptop screen. is that ok? What difference should i see now?
  13. Im in the display control panel but im still not sure what i'm checking. theres a bit red rectangle with a 1 in it. Then it tells me the resolutions which is the recommended one. and then the colour settings. How do i see what my screen is set to?
  14. OK I will go through hhw soft proofing process - I think I will wait for that when I start with a UK lab in a few weeks. Besides for that, if the laptop screen looks better than the desktop screen, is that still a soft proofing issue???
  15. Im trying to look at other pictures, its very hard to say but i think the problem of the pink is basically in the skintones more than anything else. what i do notice and have a problem is that blues greens and yellows are stronger and brighter on screen than on print - print is a bit deeper and duller. (That might be a whole separate issue or is it the same thing...)
  16. i made the desktop cooler but it is not cooler than the laptop!!! i guess the phone pics is not doing a great job huh!!
  17. OK so I really calibrated lowering brightness to 70% and cooling to 10000k. Deff better but the skin tones are still pink. I have attached a pic of both screens jn one pic and then of a print next to each screen (the print looks green on the phone pic...jn real it deff has more pink jn it but nowhere near as much as the desktop screen) the print is more similar to laptop
  18. Correct I have calibrated cooler but i found the pink still stayed. Should i re calibrate to 10000k? using method 1?
  19. Good idea - Yes I will do that first thing in the morning for you. Thanks again
  20. It is probably still slightly too bright but i find it hard to see with all this pink because the colouring is so different. I used 80 for the luminance target
