Taphath Canon Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Hi! I am moving my desk out of my shooting room into my bedroom. My room is 16'X17' I already have a blackout screen and blackout curtain for every window. I read your article "The light around your computer" and would love to get your advice before I purchase new lighting. Is it better to have light overhead? My husband thought I should get lamps with the temperature and lumens that your article suggested, but I didn't think lamps on the side of the monitor would be a good idea. Would an overhead ceiling fan with proper bulbs be okay? Or would flat lights be better? I doubt can lights or track lights would be a good idea. I understand about the temperature and lumens, I'm just wondering about what fixture would be best. Thank you so much!
Damien Symonds Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 No, I agree with you. Lamps aren't much good, I reckon. Their light is too "directional" if you know what I mean. A good overhead light that spreads evenly around the room is much better.
