tarawiley
Hi Damien, I am recalibrating for the first time since upgrading to High Sierra. I have a colormunki and have not had many problems doing it before today. I have change the white point 3 times and the screen is not getting any warmer. As a matter of fact I can see no change at all in the silly before/after thing they have you look at. And of course my screen is way cooler than my prints. Excuse the crappy iphone pic... Damien Symonds
Just to check - you're only comparing in Photoshop, right? That doesn't look like Photoshop.
tarawiley
Ooh nope! I just opened the jpg! I can open it in Photoshop but i do a lot of editing in lightroom. Is that going to change things?
Damien Symonds
Well, yes, of course it changes things. Editing in Lightroom means your photos aren't as good as they should be. However, for this particular issue, no, it doesn't make any difference.
tarawiley
Ok here it is in PS. Better but not quite. Print is definitely...flatter?
Damien Symonds
"flatter" would be a brightness issue. The screen is too bright.
tarawiley
Ok. Ill keep trying. The screen is SO dark when it matches I assumed it was wrong. It may actually be time for some new prints anyway Thanks!
Damien Symonds
Tell me about the light in your room. Are you sure it's bright enough? https://www.damiensymonds.net/2012/01/light-around-your-computer.html
tarawiley
Yup. Actually bought my bulbs based on that article! Excuse the fact my kids have taken over my office ??
Damien Symonds
Great. Then yes, lower the screen's brightness to get a match.
Damien Symonds
How did you go?
tarawiley
It’s so dark that I can barely see the screen comfortably. I’m going to order a few new test prints from my current sessions just to double check since these are getting pretty old.
