DyerMtnHoney
I just went in to re-caliberate my screen, it hasn't been done since January, and my prints are much warmer with blacker blacks than what appears on my screen. There was a notice that the target was being adjusted from 30 to 32 (for brightness?). I've recaliberated it twice now and it hasn't gotten any better. Any suggestions? I've read the article and followed the instructions when I first bought the calibrator. The lighting in my editing error is extremely poor for the time being. I spoke with Damien previously about this issue. *area not error
Damien Symonds
Did you have a good screen-to-print match after calibration in January?

Damien Symonds
Great. And are you comparing those same prints now?
DyerMtnHoney
Yes. They are my test prints from Miller's.
Damien Symonds
Ok, great. I'm sorry to say you might need to completely uninstall then reinstall the Spyder software, then run the calibration as if you're doing it for the first time. Spyders can be a bit temperamental like this.
DyerMtnHoney
I uninstalled and reinstalled following the instructions, but maybe something has changed because now when I run the calibration the module that comes up with the light metering that is suppose to read around 80 does not come up as an option. Yikes! Any thoughts on that?
Damien Symonds
Remind me which Spyder you have?

Damien Symonds
Ok. Never mind, the brightness part isn't critical, as long as you have adjusted it beforehand to match your prints. Did you do so?
DyerMtnHoney
Yes. I adjusted the brightness. I'm just concerned about the cool coloring of the screen versus the warmer prints.

DyerMtnHoney
The blacks are better. But yes, the prints are still warmer than my screen.
Damien Symonds
That's great news. And have you followed the troubleshooting part of my instructions?
