For the past few days I have been getting the following error....  "Could not save "filename.jpg” because the file is locked or you do not have the necessary access privileges. Use the ‘Get Info’ command in the Finder to unlock the file or change permissions on the file or enclosing folders.
I have no idea what I did. I did't upgrade anything as far as I know. I'm hoping I just hit something? Any ideas?

Thx!

What happens when you get info on the files in question in Finder?

Are you sure you've logged into your computer on an admin account?

And does this happen with every file or just with some?

It's not all, but I haven't figured out a rhyme or reason to which ones. It always happens (so far) when I try to save a RAW file from the .CR2 to a JPEG. The files don't show locked in "get info" ... I will log in again, but I don't know how I wouldn't be logged in differently.

also, here is my computer health stats...

I have a Mac laptop running X Yosemite and Photoshop CC. It is under 6 months old, and has 16GB of RAM. Its hard drive has 85GB free out of 250GB. The last time I shut down was just before posting this thread. I have never run a cleanup program.

Should I upgrade to the new OS?

Well, it's having its own share of terrible problems too :(

May I ask a bit more about your workflow?  I mean, why on earth are you saving directly from raw to jpeg, anyway?

I do my RAW adjustments, then open in Ps. Do a few adjustment layers, then save as a psd and jpeg.  I did just figure out if I save them to the spot I opened them from and save over a file it works?!?

Ok, so now I can't get it to give me the error... which I guess is a good thing, but it did it all last night through today. I literally just replicated the error in order to screen shot it and paste it here. So, I guess problem solved for now?!? I will come back if I get it again! Thanks for the link though. I will start not saving my jpegs in my archives. :)
