color space

Hi, someone told me to make sure that my calibrated color space is loaded into photoshop under "edit" then "color settings" and where it says "working space" and "rgb" to click on that and put in the device you calibrate your screen with. I have never done this before, it has sRGB IEC61966-2.1in there.  The reason i ask is my lab printed out my photos and they all turned out pinkish, i was most defiantly in the right srgb color space. My prints have always matched my calibrated screen up until now, and i'm sure its them and not me? Where i live we only have one good lab in town, so going to out source my prints to another lab out of town to compare, but 1st i thought i had better check! And yes i calibrate once a month with the x-rite color munki.

Oh, gosh, no, you must NEVER do that.

Leave your Color Settings exactly as they are, on "North America General Purpose 2".  That is the safe setting.

Do you still have some of those older prints?  To check that they still match your screen?  As long as you can prove that, then yes, this sounds like a recent lab cock-up.

Yes, and it was there fault, they had a problem with their printer. Some of the staff their are color blind I think. I went else where to have my prints done and took them in to show them the correct colours they should be...they appoligised and refunded me my money.
