Damien Symonds Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 Talk to me, @Gabriela. Which calibrator do you have, and in what way does your screen not match your prints?
Gabriela Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 Omg I haven't seen this at all, sorry for that. I have color munki and I pick (my prints don't match) because non of the questions suit to me. I never printed anything yet...
Damien Symonds Posted January 11, 2020 Author Posted January 11, 2020 Without prints you can't know if your calibration is correct; and without confirmed calibration you can't upgrade your class. Please get those prints pronto. https://www.damiensymonds.net/cal_starthere.html
Damien Symonds Posted January 11, 2020 Author Posted January 11, 2020 Have you ordered some, @Gabriela?
Gabriela Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 HI Damian I haven't been at the computer .... on Tuesday I will do the prints, but which photos? the one I was practicing for white balance? true black and white? Im not sure how to create it.... to be true one
Damien Symonds Posted January 12, 2020 Author Posted January 12, 2020 Any photos at all, as long as they show a range of colour. For a true black-and-white just use my action. Otherwise, simple a Hue/Saturation layer with the Saturation slider dragged all the way to the left.
Gabriela Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 I will print the JPG the same photo in black and white.. I start preparing for tomorrow, but Im stuck how to use the action , do I have to change the background which has lock on it?.
Damien Symonds Posted January 13, 2020 Author Posted January 13, 2020 Just click on the name of the action, then click Play.
Damien Symonds Posted January 13, 2020 Author Posted January 13, 2020 No, you have to click exactly where I circled. Not the folder name, but the actual action name inside it.
Gabriela Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 that was the trick thank you I was stuck for 30min before I realised I need to ask you
Gabriela Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 what this warning means?? something I did wrong I just used jpg fr the printing
Damien Symonds Posted January 13, 2020 Author Posted January 13, 2020 It simply means you didn't flatten your layers before saving. It's ok, it's not a big problem.
Gabriela Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 ok and I NEED TO DO IT? PROBABLY LATER AT YOUR TEACHING YOU GONNA EXPLAIN.. I got the photos.. do I have to have same conditions as I do the photos....? I put photos on the floor so I don't have them close to monitor I would say the color one are quiet similar or bit orange tone - but here Im not sure if its just the light from PC how you mentioned but the black and white to dark and grey tone
Damien Symonds Posted January 14, 2020 Author Posted January 14, 2020 8 hours ago, Gabriela said: I would say the color one are quiet similar or bit orange tone Would you say that the screen is a bit warmer than the prints? Or is it a bit cooler than the prints?
Damien Symonds Posted January 14, 2020 Author Posted January 14, 2020 Thanks. Sometimes that means that your room lighting is too yellow. Could that be the case, or are you comfortable that it is nice and white (similar to daylight)? https://www.damiensymonds.net/2012/01/light-around-your-computer.html
Damien Symonds Posted January 15, 2020 Author Posted January 15, 2020 Fantastic! Ok, follow the troubleshooting part of my calibration instructions, for when the screen is too cool. 1
Gabriela Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 white luminance target I will put to 90, than I print the photos again and compare...right? Do I have to redone the photos from start?

Hang on, what? You'd change the luminance target if the screen is too bright or too dark. Is that the case? For the screen's coolness, you change the white temperature.
Gabriela Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 I think Im reading dife rent troubleshooting
Damien Symonds Posted January 15, 2020 Author Posted January 15, 2020 No, that's the right page. You need the "White Point Targets" section. 1
Gabriela Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 HI Damian, I calibrated the monitor, and now I will do the photos again? or just the jpg I will put on usb?
