Lturner
Hello, I added a B&W preset to an edited .jpg. The origingal .jpg was 7.75 MB. After I added the preset to it and saved it, I noticed that it had decreased down to 1.39 MB. Is this normal? Does it matter? Thanks in advance for your help! Damien Symonds
Some drop is normal, but that sure does seem like a lot. What quality level did you save it at?

Lturner
I saved it as a quality level of 12 in the image processor panel of PS. Is there a separate one for Bridge that I'm unaware of?
Damien Symonds
Are you sure you didn't resize at the same time? Can you check their pixel dimensions in the File Properties section of the Metadata panel in Bridge?
Lturner
The original .jpg: 7.75 mb, 5176x3450 after adding a preset to it: 1.39 MB, 5176x3450 No resize.
Damien Symonds
Ok, great! It must have been a noise issue, then. The colour one must have been pretty noisy. May I see 100% crops of both files?

Damien Symonds
Well, the quality still looks good, so that's all that matters. I don't see a problem here.
Lturner
Perfect then. Just wondering if it would cause an issue but if you say no...then i'm good. Thanks!
