Damien Symonds
Jump to next slide >> Special CMYK profile for B&W photos The ideal solution to the problem is to convert our black-and-white photos to CMYK mode, but using a very special CMYK profile that creates a kind of modified rich black. If you have a good relationship with your print shop, you could ask them for such a profile. But honestly, I’d be pretty flabbergasted if they could provide you with one. They don’t come pre-loaded in any software I know of, so they have to be custom-made, and most print shops don’t have the time or skill for that. So I’m making my own profile available to you. You can download it here: Damien’s black-and-white CMYK.icc When you’ve downloaded it, you should be able to simply double-click it and it will install on your system, ready for Photoshop to use.
