dojson
Hi Damien, I culled through a session and narrowed it down to about 40 images in Bridge. From there, I opened all 40 in ACR and made my white balance / exposure adjustments. After that, I wanted to drag those files to dropbox so my retoucher could get started. For some reason, the XMP files are no longer going with them and only the original CR2 files are being uploaded in to dropbox. It used to work in the past, however I have noticed that now Bridge is showing me .xmp files as a separate option in Bridge - I can SEE them, where as before I was not able to. Can you please help me figure out how to be able just to edit and slide those files over to another folder like before? As of now I am trying to find each .xmp to match and dragging them separately and it is a serious pain. Thanks!
Damien Symonds
I'm curious why you're sending raw files to your retoucher, if you're doing the raw editing yourself?
dojson
It's typically just a quick adjustment, but I want him to be able to tweak something that I may have missed or be able to access the RAW files if necessary.
Samantha LaRue
You should be able to just open File/Windows Explorer or Finder and select them all and drag+drop them into the dropbox loader. Is that not what you've been doing? The XMP files are always separate from the raw files. It sounds like you might have been converting to DNG somewhere along the way if you've never had to deal with the XMP files before.
Damien Symonds
In Bridge, can you go to the View menu and see if "Show hidden files" has been turned on? Generally, it should be off.
dojson
It's unchecked (not showing hidden files). I guess I am confused. I have a photographer friend who does this same thing. Make adjustments in ACR, then from bridge, selects the files and drags them to a DB folder. It automatically adds the XMP files in the folder for him (like they are attached to the CR2 files). Mine USED to do that, but now I am having to manually go find the matching xmp file and then drag that manually. Is there a reason why he can just drag the CR2 files and the xmp files follow? Does that make sense?
Damien Symonds
Ok, so your first step in troubleshooting has to be to try one of your older folders (which you know worked in the past) to see if it still works they way it should, or if it's misbehaving now too.
