Megbeth
I believe I've gotten myself into a pickle. After looking through many conversations on here and your FB group, I'm not sure which steps to follow. My client would like the backdrop changed to white. I warned that it may be difficult and pure white won't look "natural" but here I am. I have 11 of these edits, and the example I've attached are after raw and the original edit with the solid gray background that I outsourced. Is this a start over situation or can I save it? Damien Symonds
So does the client want pure white? The light grey isn't sufficient?
Megbeth
Correct, unfortunately.
Damien Symonds
That's ok! You said you have eleven to do. Is it one photo each of eleven different people?
Megbeth
Yes. I tried a couple others but I'm not proud of them. I'm happy to upload them if you'd like to see.
Damien Symonds
Anyone with dark hair will be no trouble at all. But anyone with light hair might be an issue. May I see those?
Megbeth
I actually don't have anyone with hair much lighter.
Damien Symonds
Oh, that's great news!!!!!! Now, let's tangent for a moment. I can see from your profile that you have a Mac, and no calibrator, is that correct? At the very least, in the absence of calibration, have you compared your screen to pro lab prints and adjusted its brightness to match them as closely as possible? Megbeth
No calibrator yet. And I haven't tried a pro lab yet, just my own printing. It's on my to do list, but I'm sure that doesn't count for much...
Damien Symonds
You're right, it doesn't. Please get some prints, pronto. Info about what prints to choose in this article. Please don't do any more editing until you've done so. I fear you can't see how dark your photo is.
