Newborn Editing like Jade

I have been trying to achieve this particular soft looking edit for a while and I just can't. Can you help me??

What do you think it is that characterises the photos you like?

I think it's the soft, creamy tones and it's almost like there's a haze too. Playing with color layers gets me no where. I know I'm doing it wrong.

Have you read this?

What leaps out from your photo and smacks me in the face is the terrible mixed lighting.  You MUST get that under control if you desire beauty in your shots.

Yes I've read it. Are you saying lighting will make all the difference? This images was natural light which I hate and I have since ordered my PLM but it's on back order.

Gosh yes, lighting is most of the battle.

Okay thank you Damien. I will post here again when I've received my PLM and used it for some shots. In the meantime, is this photo hopeless?

Gosh no!  Once you do your raw processing, then the cast correction, it'll look beautiful.

How's this? It's a slightly more zoomed out version. I preferred it over the closer shot.

Great.  So I suggest trying Cooling Filter LBB for the warm cast on the back.
