rameier
I am trying to clean up some space in my slow running 2015 21.5” iMac. (I do know I need to upgrade to the 27” upon my next purchase. Wasn’t as educated years ago when going with the 21”). In the storage tab of my system Information, the ‘other’ storage is taking up 733.85 GB of my 1TB. I’m not sure I have ever ran a Mac clean up program, but would that help or is there a different way to manage this ‘other’ storage, that is faded gray so I cannot manual go through it. Brian
Ah, the dreaded "Other" storage. Basically, the OS has no clue on what the data is, so it classifies it as "Other." Which doesn't do you any good. If you haven't already, please purchase CleanMyMac X from Macpaw.com. I run this program at least once or twice a week and it's worth the $40 or so. Macpaw also wrote an article on how to clear this space, and it's bit involved in cleaning all the areas. rameier
Made the purchase tonight; ran, scanned, deleted, etc. Tackling the tricks in the article, if not this weekend, next week. Thank you!
