why is this image opening this way?

I am confused with why my image opens like this in BOTH ACR and LR. I don't use LR, I use ACR, but tried opening in another place to make sure I wasn't going crazy.  Thank you in advance for your help!

Because of all the channel clipping, I assume.  That kind of lighting is the WORST!
