Mariia Morello
Hi Damien, I am curious what will be the best way to change the color/tint of the sky/sea/grass/flowers? I understand that I can use Photo Filter for some changes, but what if I need some more drastic color swap?
Damien Symonds
Hi Mariia, was there supposed to be a photo with this post?
Mariia Morello
No, it is a general question
Damien Symonds
No, sorry. It's a question that can only be answered on a case-by-case basis. There are dozens of colour-change methods, and the reason there are dozens is that they are all needed in different situations.
Mariia Morello
ok, I will ask about about the actual picture then, so the questions that I have concern a correct approach: - to change the color of the flower into pink or yellow(btw is it the same if I want to change the current red into a darker and much richer red?) -to change the tint of green on the background to a colder one -to remove the pink tint from the central petals
Damien Symonds
11 hours ago, Mariia Morello said: - to change the color of the flower into pink or yellow Because the red of the flower is quite strong, it should be possible to add an overall Hue/Saturation layer, go to Reds, and move the Hue slider left or right respectively. Then mask out some stuff in the background which you don't want changed. 11 hours ago, Mariia Morello said: (btw is it the same if I want to change the current red into a darker and much richer red?) No, you'd just use Levels for that. 11 hours ago, Mariia Morello said: -to change the tint of green on the background to a colder one I would use a cooling filter for that. 11 hours ago, Mariia Morello said: -to remove the pink tint from the central petals A tiny bit of yellow Photo Filter I think. Damien Symonds
For the last point ... It would also be possible to add a Solid Color layer of desirable petal colour, set it to "Color" blend mode, and mask it on to the central area.
