LuLu Photo
Hi Damien, I am posting here as I believe it applies to web sharpening but not sure. I am preparing a print to be used in an e-book. As an e-book is always viewed on an electronic device am I correct that I would sharpen as though I am sharpening for the web? Hoping that there is not an option to print the e-book..... Thanks! Damien Symonds
Oh gosh, this is such a vexed question. Who is making the e-book? You, or somebody else?
LuLu Photo
My sister is. I am currently trying to find out what software she is using so perhaps I can research some specs.
LuLu Photo
Okay, she is using Beacon software and from their site I have determined that if it were to be a full page image, which it isn't, then it would be 816 px by 1056 px. Am I correct in assuming I would leave the ppi empty as it is intended for screen viewing?
Damien Symonds
Right. Only the pixel dimensions matter, the PPI is irrelevant. 59 minutes ago, LuLu Photo said: if it were to be a full page image, which it isn't How big will it be, then? You'll need to know exact pixel dimensions.
LuLu Photo
Okay, good news I have confirmed it would just be for viewing on an electronic device (although they of course come in all shapes and sizes) but it wont be printed. I am going to make it 272 px x 272 px. So now do I just do my normal process sharpening for web? Thanks.
Damien Symonds
Yes, that's right. Great.
