Sandra Shan Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Hi Damien not sure if this looks right or not or authentic.....wondering if l should take the flower off her skin or leave it on or does it look stupid....
Damien Symonds Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Your masking around the edges of the baby is too soft to be plausible, I think.
Sandra Shan Posted October 25, 2016 Author Posted October 25, 2016 Is this better masked on more flower....
Damien Symonds Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Yeah, I think that's better. Does it need some shadow on the flower behind the head?
Sandra Shan Posted October 25, 2016 Author Posted October 25, 2016 l am still not sure, first time l have ever done anything like this....so how do l go about putting shadow behind his head...thankyou...
Damien Symonds Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 May I see a screenshot of your layers panel?
Damien Symonds Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Ok, so underneath the baby layer, add a Hue/Saturation layer, and move the Lightness slider to about -50. That will darken everything except the baby. Invert the mask to hide it. Then gently mask on where you want shadowing to be. Afterwards, you might like to increase the Saturation slider a bit, to your taste.
Sandra Shan Posted October 25, 2016 Author Posted October 25, 2016 Thanks Damien will do and repost later....thankyou...
Sandra Shan Posted October 25, 2016 Author Posted October 25, 2016 Well here it is but l really didn't know what l was doing, l think l have mucked it up some what....feeling a bit stupid....
Damien Symonds Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 No, I said -50 for Lightness. And that shadowing is too big and ... not how shadowing would look.
Sandra Shan Posted October 25, 2016 Author Posted October 25, 2016 No it's not how it should look....it looks terrible as l said really not sure how to do it, it's new to me, l will put it back up to -50 and try again, it just looked so dark...
Damien Symonds Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 52 minutes ago, Sandra Shan said: it just looked so dark... You must have been painting it on with a much too high opacity brush.
Sandra Shan Posted October 25, 2016 Author Posted October 25, 2016 Well tried again lowered the brush opacity maybe its too subtle now, l am grasping at straws here....it's probably not right again, am l anywhere near it....???
Damien Symonds Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 I think it needs shadow mainly down beside the cheek.
Damien Symonds Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Spread the shadow out a bit, I think. Broader and softer.
Sandra Shan Posted October 26, 2016 Author Posted October 26, 2016 I think l better give it a rest just not working , thanks for your help anyway Damien....
