calibrating laptop for mobile editing

I only edit on my desktop. I have a family issue that means I'm going to have to do raw processing on quite a few sessions on a laptop in a location different from my office. 

where do I calibrate my laptop? In my office before I leave, or at one of the places I will most likely be editing (but the light there changes throughout the day)?

Don't change your calibration.  Just control the light as best you can.

Then calibrate it in your good lighting situation at home, before you leave.
