Liverbird
Can you please advise the best way to fix my backdrop. I did a shoot and see that the backdrop has a crease and I can't fix it. The issue only appeared after I had put the images through ACR and I corrected the w/b I can't add images as I do not have permission to share so Im at a loss. Damien Symonds
The method I explained step-by-step in this thread should work fine. However, it's CRUCIAL that you do your raw processing properly first. By "properly" I mean there must be no noise at all in the photo. https://www.damiensymonds.net/2010/07/raw-noise-removal.html
Damien Symonds
Oh, and make sure you process the files in 16-bit, not 8-bit.
Liverbird
Ok thanks I will take a look at the step by step. 16bit I changed it to 8 because that’s what you said do in one of your tutorials😳🙈
Damien Symonds
Normally 8-bit is fine, yes. But in this particular case, 16 is necessary.
Liverbird
Thanks, I have changed to 16bit, read and followed the denoise just going to read the thread info.
Liverbird
That thread relates to expanding the backdrop, I am just trying to get the dark section where the crease is to match the rest. Do I use the same method or would it be fixed better with a gradient tool?
Damien Symonds
The same method. Duplicate the Background layer. Make a lasso selection around the people Edit>Fill, and fill with Content Aware. Gaussian blur it. Mask it. Link the noise layer.
Liverbird
Thank you, silly question but the edit fill only applies to the selected area ie covering the people so if the selection is still active will the Gaussian blur apply to all of the layer or just to the selection or do I delete the selection once I have content aware filled it?
