SamanthaW
Hi Damien, I am trying to get my monitor properly calibrated. I have the Spyder calibration tool (image attached) and my laptop is the Dell G16 7630, with 32GB of ram, 1TB SDD (700GB free), NVIDIA 4070 8GB GDDR6. When I first got the laptop it was explained that there are two display options, the internal display or the NVIDIA display. It was selected to use the NVIDIA. First question, none of the calibration tool options seem to match the calibrator I have from your check list, so I wasn't entirely sure which option to select for instructions. Second, I can't seem to get my calibration results to match my prints. (Printing from Atlantic Photo Supply here in Nova Scotia Canada). Each time I do it, my reds and greens seem to be not matching my prints. When the calibration is done my screen is much more green and less saturated than my prints. I have selected the Wide, Standard and General for display set up to see if it would change my results and it hasn't. My yellows look green, and my reds are off. I am viewing my images in photoshop and comparing to my professional prints. I edit in SRGB ICC color profile 8bit. I am starting to wonder if the display options are the issue and causing my problems, but otherwise I just don't know what to do to ensure my calibration is correct. Damien Symonds
Yes, unfortunately I don't have exact instructions for that particular spyder, since I can no longer afford to keep buying the new devices as they come out. I was hoping it might be similar software to the X2 Elite? https://www.damiensymonds.net/calibration-instructions/spyder-x2-elite-mac.html
SamanthaW
That makes sense. I guess I am more wondering if my calibration issues stem from the multiple display options or if I am selecting the correct Display set up?
Damien Symonds
Just to clarify - your laptop screen is the one you're calibrating? You don't have an external screen attached to it?

SamanthaW
Yes thats correct! My laptop screen, I don't have any external displays. My laptop has the ability to select which Display Mode being used. The Intel(R) UHD Graphics or the NVIDIA GPU
Damien Symonds
You're definitely correct to use the NVIDIA.
