Sndrkstr Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Hello Damien, I just ordered the Datacolor SpyderPro which you recommend in the "What to buy" article. Which one of your Calibration instructions should I follow? The SpyderPro is not in the list. Thank you so much for all the information you provide. I really appreciate it. ( and please excuse any funny language because English is not my native language) Greetings, Sandra
Damien Symonds Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Oh Sandra, I'm so sorry, I haven't yet saved up enough money to buy the SpyderPro, so I haven't been able to write instructions for it yet
Sndrkstr Posted April 18 Author Posted April 18 Oh, do not be sorry about it. I totally understand and I needed a while to press the "buy now" button. So I should just follow the instructions for a previous Spyder model? I have a windows desktop PC and a Eizo color edge CS2731.
Damien Symonds Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Oh! Well, the Eizo has its own "Color Navigator" software. I have a ColorEdge here too. Do you know if your version of Color Navigator is compatible with your new Spyder?
Sndrkstr Posted April 18 Author Posted April 18 Oh, I did not know that and of course I have no idea if it is compatible . How can I find out? And does that mean that I will not nee the spyder?
Sndrkstr Posted April 18 Author Posted April 18 I will have to go to a family meeting in a minute but I will return tonight and check my messages. (it is noon here now). Thank you so much for your time. I appreciate it. And I am thinking about taking your classes but I am not sure if my english is good enough and my PS will be in German.
Damien Symonds Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Oh yes, you do need the Spyder. The Eizo software works with a range of calibration devices to achieve the high quality colour representation that Eizo is famous for. But I haven't heard if Eizo have recently updated the software to provide compatibility with the newest Spyders. Your English is fantastic!
Sndrkstr Posted April 18 Author Posted April 18 I had to research.. I installed the colornavigator 7 and it is compatible with Spyder Pro. The spyder will be in the mail on Tuesday and I will try to calibrate then. And now I really have to go. Support Software and Drivers Download Software:ColorNavigator 7 - Color Management Software 【Description】 [Ver.7.2.3] - CG2400S supported - Spyder Pro, specbos 2501 supported
Sndrkstr Posted April 23 Author Posted April 23 Hello Damien! Thanks for asking! Yes, the Spyder is here. But I am still waiting for my prints. The lab is slow. But I will let you know when I have them. 1
Sndrkstr Posted Tuesday at 12:20 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 12:20 PM Hello Damien! The prints are here. The screen is warmer (more yellow and magenta) and has more contrast compared to the prints, the colors are more vivid. The prints look flat in comparison. Is this only because of the sreen/paper difference or will it change to the better through calibration? What are the next steps now? Do I have to do anything with the ColorNavigator program or do I only follow your calibration instructions for a Spyder calibrator (Spyder x2 Elite) ? I could not find any information on Auto brightness for my screen. So I guess it does not have this and I do not need to bother about it. Tnanks for your help! Sandra
