Kendra Leonard Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Hoping someone has some wisdom...when I calibrate my screen, right at the end when I save the profile, the screen turns a nice grey and then bam, pink. I thought I was being dramatic but nope...now all my images I've edited are dull in real life. Any idea why this is happening??
Damien Symonds Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Hi Kendra, yes, I've seen this myself. Which X-Rite do you have? 1
Damien Symonds Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Thanks. Are you following my instructions here? Your profile says you have a laptop. Is it just the laptop, or do you have another screen plugged into it?
Kendra Leonard Posted December 20, 2016 Author Posted December 20, 2016 Yes, I followed them over and over. I have an external monitor hooked into my laptop. I recently changed from CS5 to CC, I wouldn't think that would have any bearing on anything but that's the only thing that's different in what I'm doing. I have a video of the color blinking and then switching at the end but I can't get it to attach.

Damien Symonds Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 My first thought is that it's because you've got the external screen set up to "Mirror" or "Duplicate" the laptop screen. It must be set to "Extend".
Kendra Leonard Posted December 20, 2016 Author Posted December 20, 2016 My apology! The external- I don't ever edit on the laptop screen
Damien Symonds Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Just checking that you saw my comment above, about "Extend".
Kendra Leonard Posted December 20, 2016 Author Posted December 20, 2016 I did, thanks! I'll be home soon and I'll check that. Anything else I will want to do before replying again?
Damien Symonds Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 If it's already correctly on "Extend" then I'll be sad, because that's the most obvious cause. In that case, I'd need you to calibrate the laptop screen itself, to see if the same pink problem occurs. We'd be looking for evidence of a faulty calibrator, you see. Let's hope it's not that.
Kendra Leonard Posted December 20, 2016 Author Posted December 20, 2016 Ok, I must be clueless today. I set it to extend, it had previously been on "show only on display 2." But now...stuff will only show up on my laptop screen. How do I get it over to the monitor? I can see the mouse on my monitor, but the color munki window is on my laptop and won't drag over...
Kendra Leonard Posted December 20, 2016 Author Posted December 20, 2016 Never mind, I figured out how to get the calibration window back over Never mind, I figured out how to get the calibration window back over
Kendra Leonard Posted December 21, 2016 Author Posted December 21, 2016 Sigh, extended it, redid the callibration, still feels pink

Damien Symonds Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 One more thing to check - when you were changing the screen to "Extend", did you make the external drive the Main Display?
Kendra Leonard Posted December 21, 2016 Author Posted December 21, 2016 It's grey, you click save and then...pink.
Kendra Leonard Posted December 21, 2016 Author Posted December 21, 2016 Just double checked, and when I click identify it says my external is 1, but it seems it's actually 2. And it is set as my main display. I appreciate your help here greatly by the way.
Damien Symonds Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Ok, and is this how you have it set up? Your external screen sitting on the left of your laptop screen?
Kendra Leonard Posted December 21, 2016 Author Posted December 21, 2016 Aaaannndddd....it randomly just went blue/grey! Not hot pink!
Damien Symonds Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Well, that's gotta be driving you crazy! Click on the images of the screens in the control panel, you'll see you can drag them around so that they match your physical setup. (This has nothing to do with calibration, I'm just helping before you tear out your hair ) On 12/21/2016 at 1:26 AM, Kendra Leonard said: Aaaannndddd....it randomly just went blue/grey! Not hot pink! Expand Randomly when, exactly? After calibration again? Or just ... randomly?
Kendra Leonard Posted December 21, 2016 Author Posted December 21, 2016 Like totally randomly just flickered and went pink then grey-ish. And, who knew you could move those screen icons! (Clearly not me...)
