Hi Brian, I am reaching out to you regarding a need for my sister. I am a Windows user. She has/had a Mac IOS x. It died yesterday. She does not edit pictures and does not use any Adobe programs. I am trying to help her purchase a new computer for very basic use/needs. She wants to stay with desktop and Mac. What are your suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I did it! Thank you for "holding my hand" and the step by step instructions. A beer is on the way.

I tried right clicking on the bigger partition and I did get the Delete Volume. I did that. Stuck now at the GPT instruction. That is not showing up.
-
Hi Brian. The drive arrived today and I tried to follow the instructions you provided in the above link. I got to where I was to Delete Volume. That was grayed out and nothing happened when I clicked on it.

Thank you. I will follow your instructions. It is supposed to arrive by Thursday.

Hi Brian. I plan on purchasing this drive to back up my 4TB SSD. This drive will remain off site or in a safe. I read that I will need to format it for Windows. Is that something I can do, or will you guide me through that process? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1641577-REG/sandisk_professional_sdph91g_012t_nbaad_12tb_g_drive_usb_3_2.html

Good idea? I do travel out of State at least once a week so I am leaning to the SSD rather than the G-Drives.

Brian, your response has been helping me not go crazy. I was looking for SSD. I thought the above G-Drive was that till I sent the link to a friend, as she is looking as well. She said it is not SSD. Okay, I want 4-6TB SSD. I will be purchasing two. I will keep looking for those options. If you have a link to one you love, please share. How do I compensate you for your time?

I am looking at this one. I will purchase two of them if you like this. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1641575-REG/sandisk_professional_sdph91g_004t_nbaad_4tb_g_drive_usb_3_2.html

I can go up in size. Is there a 4TB you recommend?
-
I have read through a lot of your recommendations for backup storage. Is this still a good one? Is there better ones? Not too concerned about the cost. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078STRHBX/?coliid=I2B8JPO02UWSG4&colid=IKOJW6U0I11M&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

"DisplayProfile" not showing any difference
Kathy1 replied to Kathy1's topic in Questions about tutorials and articles
Thank you. The DisplayProfile is now working. I have no idea how or when it became functioning. Happy it works. -
Hi Damien, my prints at home matched the monitor well. I ordered some new test prints and they are great! I did follow your directions. Must have been a bad batch before. I did notify the company and they are willing to reprint. Appreciate the terrific instructions on calibrating!
-
Good point! I will check that. Currently I am in another state from my physical prints. When I look at them in photo shop they look good. I did check the files at the end of calibration on the screen, again, I thought they were good. I plan to follow your directions anyway.
-
Thank you! Why or how I did not see this is a mystery! I am beginning to get more photo shoot opportunities, so need to get back to editing. I value your knowledge and help!

I am using the above to calibrate two different monitors and different locations. I was getting great results with prints and the screen. However, the prints I recently received were washed out (poor saturation). I wanted to follow your instructions for the calibration process but could only find the instructions for SpyderXPro. Is there instructions for the SpyderXElite? Thanks for your help!

I am noticing that the whole system is very sensitive and "jumpy". I know that is not a very good explanation but i don't know how else to say it. When working in a folder on an EHD, I will click on a file in the folder and it jumps to another folder. Very weird! I use a mouse. I am working on a monitor and not the laptop itself.
