  1. Hello Damien,

RE: Convert a multi-page PS brochure from PS into one PDF for web use. (I've found your previous PDF tutorial and see the PDF merge link and have saved that for later).

I cannot seem to retain sharp images, text and objects. (I understand that some loss is expected due to the compression and looking for a happy medium).
My method: converting PS to Jpg files, then converting to PDF in mac preview. I've also tried adjusting the size of the layered PS files by converting text to shapes, converting vectors & logo to smart objects then flattening etc (advice from various conversion sites through google). While the file size dramatically reduces, so does the quality.

When uploaded online the result is awful. Grey marks even appear across the white backgrounds. (See attached).

Can you please offer some advice on how to use PS or a better way for a clear result?

    Thanks in advance.

    Sarah

  2. Hello Damien,

I am trying to calibrate my 27" apple iMac screen using a Spyder 4 Express.
It looks relatively simple until asked for
    1. Gamut  (Normal or Wide)
    2. Backlight (Fluorescent CCFL  or  White LED  or  Red LED)

There is no information on this in the Product Information Guide, the Quick Start Guide or Manual.
I have read your tutorial, and understand the importance of obtaining the correct answers to these questions.
A young lady at the Carindale store advised she thinks it is a "Normal Gamut" with "RGB LED IPS Backlight", her voice sounded quite unsure as she advised it wouldn't be important anyway unless I was a photographer. I thanked her for her help. After spending the morning repeating my questions to eight people on the apple support line, I find myself here.
    (Thanks for being here!)

I know this isn't an Apple forum, but hoping you might be able to point me in the right direction for answers.

  3. Hello Damien,

This is my first time posting here. Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

Here's a 100% crop of a section of a thin striped (yes - I've read your article now!) shirt. There's quite a lot of bulky rainbow moire'.
Yes, it appears when zoomed in at 100% in PS before photoshop editing. Yes, it does appear in camera (pre-import). (FML)!
This file has had some basic RAW adjustments with no change to the RAW sharpening - it is straight out of RAW.

Thanks again and I hope to hear from you soon.
