  1. If I need to re-size something for online to this size, how would I do it? FILE SPECIFICATIONS We recommend resizing your jpeg image to 3000px on the longest side. This will make the upload process quicker. You can call your file whatever you like, as the system does not require specific names for upload.
  2. random question. when you use the crop tool, what is the number I am missing from the box at the top? When I crop this the picture disappears 🙃
  3. Thank you, I am just looking online for one now. What is the difference between these two? https://www.progear.co.nz/cameras/colour-calibration-calibrite-colorchecker-display-plus/30237 https://www.rubbermonkey.co.nz/Calibrite-Display-Plus-HL-Colourimeter?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIvtzt9d-4hAMV46NmAh2ahwuwEAQYASABEgJni_D_BwE I have a White LED Dell Ultrasharp screen, just checking I purchase the right one.
  4. Awesome, thank you. I un-fortunately purchased it a few years ago (it doesn't feel that old) Although I should be good for a few years now with a new one 😉
  5. I feel like it fired up this morning & after I run the update didn't. I guess it is time for a new one. How annoying!!
  6. Hi Brian, I calibrate my DELL U2419H screen, usually monthly. I have just started running two screens & haven't calibrated anything for a while. I have plugged it in this morning & followed Damien's instructions for i1 DISPLAY PRO & looked like it will not turn on. I have tried multiple USB ports, but no luck. My question is, if I needed to replace it, is this brand still a good one to go for? Or is there better out there now? I have attached a screenshot of the error message to show you. And have tried restarting my computer with it plugged in, but no luck.
  7. Thank you. So if I keep using my grey card it'll work.
  8. The tricky part is this is Resene’s whitest paint. This may be a silly question, if I’m not shooting off the actual wall, ie I will use a wood wall & most likely backdrops. Is it super important this white matches 100%?
  9. Would you say right hand side is an acceptable match?
  10. Now that you have said that, I see the white balance looks ok on the sheet & really off on the paint.....
  11. Hi there, This is a question of a different type. I am about to paint my studio & there are so many whites to pick from, being that this is something I want to do once. I have taken a picture of the four white I have got samples for, using my white balance sheet I have taken a picture of them. I'm not sure if I should trust my white balance card. Any suggestions, or where to find information about what paint colour is best for a photography studio? there is only natural light from a window in here, lights were off.
  12. Whoops, sorry I skipped the noise part because that was different & thought if I don't deal with the noise no point in sharpening.
  13. I skipped the sharpening bit (only because that is completely different since updating photoshop & I'm about to go back & re-read this, but they need the photos) I re-sized to 2048 pixels longest side & save jpg 11.
  14. The charity will use them on fb first, then newspaper. but happy to do fb first.
  15. All done. Now the correct way to save it from here?
  16. I think I just noticed it changes on its own... But when saving as a jpg, what things do I tick on the right hand side.
  17. Hi Damien, So I understand this, I want to re-size this image for web. I have adjusted the longest side to 960, but what do I do with the short side?
  18. Don't judge me, but in the early days I used an action. But I've taken a five year break from photography having my third baby & keen to learn how to do it properly now, but not sure where to learn? Photos for myself I would just post them & they were fine. (by fine I mean uploaded ok) Last night was the first time I have sent a file to someone with my new R5 & my updated version of photoshop & the file was massive I couldn't send it. So more to the point, where can I learn how to do this?
  19. I guess everything. I imported pictures I took this evening at a charity jig & they were way to big to email to them, or send on fb. I guess I'm wanting to learn how the correct way to do these things, probably very basic knowledge which I lack.
  20. I do have a quick question..... I've just recently gone mirrorless, canon R5 & the files are HUGE! Which class will I learn the correct way to re-size these massive files?
  21. Hi Damien, this might be a simple question… im just calibrating my Dell Ultrasharp screen with i1 Display Pro. In the instructions when I’m taking my screens output, I start with with my screen on its lowest output (5000). I’m confused, am I doing the whole screen ie all 9 parts of the grid on 5000 then starting again for the next preset. Or am I changing the preset per grid change? I have 6 presets, but 9 on the grid. hopefully this makes sense 😁
