Where can I find a link to download and print out the WB grayscale? Thank you!
-
Shit, I returned it lol Thinking it was the brand. Well this sucks, I plug in my camera card reader to transfer raw files to the external because the D850 files are huge. I never place the raw files on my mac just if only i'm working on that session. SO now i have to directly place the raw files on my mac ?? ughh Do you know of another way? Thank you for the research! "So for now, if your WD Drive that you are reformatting, make sure it is setup for macOS Extended (Journaled) and it's formatted. Then all you should be able to do is find your drive you want to copy, open it and do a Command+A which will select all the files. Then right-click and select Copy, then go to the destination drive and right-click and select "Paste." This will copy the files and will allow you to make sure that everything copied over and is fine, THEN you can do a select all on the originals and delete them. " This what i do with the raw camera files?

Hey Brian, I have the new Mac mini and always used WD external hard drives. I found out that Western Digital is compatible, but Apple does not allow drag and drop feature as of now. This is essential for me as I'm transferring files from the old external to the new external drive for the new Mac. It's due to Ventura, is what they told me. What other hard drive do you suggest for my drive to be able to backup and where I am able to drag and drop files from the desktop to the new external? Thank you !

Hi Brian, so under the Graphics Processor settings, under advanced settings the " 30 bit display" is checked marked but grayed out? Is this still ok?
-
Oh wonderful, thanks Damien. Can I ask Damien, if you heard any good reviews on the one they recommend I purchase? Now I'm leaning towards you have ;listed as you the expert on this lol
-
I checked out the link you sent of Damien’s recommendations , I noticed he recommends the color checker? Does this calibrator check color and brightness? I didn’t realize this was on his list . Should I use that one instead? The ones I listed here he doesn’t have step by step instructions? 🥴

Talked to the Calibrite company and they mentioned I could use the old one i1 display and I could download some software for it. If I wanted to buy a new one they suggested this these two and I'm not quite sure which one to purchase. I'm leaning towards the Calibrite Display Plus HL. The other suggested device is the Calibrite Display Pro HL. So the two middle shown on the chart. I will link up their comparison chart. Which do you think ? https://calibrite.com/us/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2023/06/Calibrite-Calibrator-comparison-chart-USA_0723.pdf

I have an Xrite i1 display about 4 years old. I may try a Spyder , if they are good a brand.

So, I purchased the Mini Mac with all your configurations instead. I'm happy, but I'm dreading the PS reload and all the recommended settings for Bridge and PS ...blah.. I know Damien has the instructions for it all. I remember using his instructions at one point, and I think I may still have the bridge class. Do you happen to know if I can download PS CC on the new Mac but still work off the old one until everything is set up? And what version is better to download 2022 or 2023 ...My apologies for all the questions! But I only trust you guys and this community! Also, I'm assuming with the Apple ID, it should transfer over Safari websites and passwords? I can maybe look that up on youtube. I do still need to purchase a new calibrator for the new display. Have you heard of any new recommendations for this specific display of Apple's? Thank you for everything!

OK, so this is what I may purchase instead of the mini Mac; a possibility, though. I want the 64 GB, I think. I know you mentioned the 32 GB on a mini Mac is as powerful as the 64 GB. So do you think this is more powerful than the mini Mac figurations above? If it's about the same then of course I will go with the mini Mac. Sorry. I'm just so overwhelmed lol

Ahh.I see ...I just got an email that X-rite came out with a new calibrator for brighter displays. They have display plus HL, pro HL . Have you heard of this yet?
-
Haha great, I have a Nikon d850 ! I don't have issues with storage because I store all raw files from sessions on an external.Only the session I am currently working on stays on the Mac's hard drive. Now I wonder if 32GB will be enough So frustrating, I don't think I will be using anything AI because I have mixed feelings about it. I don't think I love it for so many reasons!

With photoshops updates, how long do you think this Mac will last? The Mac I am on now is still going but can't do any updates just about on anything and its only 4 or 5 years old Do you still recommend the Colorbrite color checker display pro ? Thank you!

Hey Brian! I think I'm about a few hundred dollars away from getting a new Mac , just curious if the new mini Mac is still the way to go instead of the Mac studio? Has anything changed or any info you have come across? Thank you.
-
No worries; thank you for taking the time. I've had the keyboard and mouse for about 3 or 4 years. They are both blue tooth. That was the next question which display could be calibrated? Thank you! My nearest Apple Store is two hours away! Now off to do some thinking lol!
-
I don't know how but I had standard display and a nano textured? Is the Nano better? OHHH great! I didn't know I could re-use my keyboard and mouse!
-
OMG LOL I doubled checked and I had two displays in the cart. I'm telling you I've been stressed out over this!

Hey Brian, I read the article " Buying a PC in 2021" has much changed for 2023? I'm currently using an iMac desktop and have been for the past 15 years. My cart at apple.com is sitting at over 7 grand...nope! We have spoken before about this but just curious if anything has changed, thanks!

Thanks, Brian. Do you have an article or a link I can read about for advice on specs for a PC? For example, a gaming computer is best? Brands? Ram , memory, graphics card? All that mess LOL -
Hello Brian, We have talked about this in the past but I can't seem to find the post. Anyway, since Apple has done away with an upgradable 27-inch.I want to switch to a windows PC. Now, of course, I have everything apple and everything syncs. My hard drives with past client sessions are all formatted to iMac. How hard of a change will this be? Or how much of a pain will this be? I don't want to switch, but I need a PC to handle my D850 large files and all the freakiing updates with PS. I'm still using 2019 version and would love to upgrade to the newer version. Would you be able to advise me as to what would be the best way to make the change and also suggest a computer/screen? I really dread this lol! Because I hate change ha!
