CM21 Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 I have this beautiful capture of my daughters first musical but the stupid yellow spotlight fell on her chin. :-( I have tried to remove as much I could but I'm still not happy with it and really want the best possible result.
Damien Symonds Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Does this look ok? You'll be blown away by how easy it is
Damien Symonds Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Add a Channel Mixer layer, and enter these values: Red +80, 0, 0, +10 Green +70, 0, 0, 0 Blue +80, 0, 0, 0 Then mask it to the area. 1
CM21 Posted October 3, 2017 Author Posted October 3, 2017 OMGosh, I knew you would know how to fix it. I may be crying a little as I truly loved this image. She has Asperger's and music and dancing is her life. She has just had a broken heel take three months to heal. AMAZING.
Damien Symonds Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 You're welcome. Let me know if you have any trouble with applying it. Please consider the Channel Mixer Class. It's capable of endless magic.
CM21 Posted October 3, 2017 Author Posted October 3, 2017 I will. Thank you so very much. I have been needing to sign up to your classes for a long time. Hiccups have gotten in the way but touch wood, now I have the opportunity to do them.
CM21 Posted October 5, 2017 Author Posted October 5, 2017 Hi Damien, I hope I'm not being too frustrating for you. Sorry in advance if I am! I tried to apply what you said but I'm not getting the same result. I have included the screenshot to see if this is correct or if Im missing a step. PS I signed up for the class - so hopefully I wont need to bother you on this topic ever again. haha.
Damien Symonds Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Signing up for a class doesn't magically give you knowledge You have to actually read it. Have you done so?
CM21 Posted October 5, 2017 Author Posted October 5, 2017 I know :-) I just wanted to let you know that I had signed up. I have started to. I have used layer adjustments before, but never the channel mixer.
Damien Symonds Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 This is not a channel mixer issue, it's a mask issue. Please make haste to read the class.
Damien Symonds Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 As far as I can tell, you've done the channel mixer part just right *thumbs up*
Damien Symonds Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 I just had a closer look - you're right, you haven't entered the channel mixer numbers correctly. Make sure you do them in the EXACT order I typed.
Damien Symonds Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 Please continue the discussion here. You need to look at my numbers again.
Damien Symonds Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 I mean, the order of the zeros and the other numbers. The order is very important.
CM21 Posted October 8, 2017 Author Posted October 8, 2017 Ive attached 4 screenshots below. Each step of what i entered into the channel mixer as per what you wrote above.
Damien Symonds Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 No, I told you, look at my numbers again. You're not getting them in the right order. See, on each channel, how I have the largest number first? You have zero first on some of the channels.
CM21 Posted October 8, 2017 Author Posted October 8, 2017 GOT IT. See finally, I told you it would be something simple i was missing. Im complementing my well earnt glass of wine for giving me the patience to continue. What else did you do to get it to "blend" a bit better?
Damien Symonds Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 Well, after doing the main masking with a 100% brush, I dropped to 10% and gently blended it into the rest of her face.
CM21 Posted October 9, 2017 Author Posted October 9, 2017 I am very grateful I was able to save this image. I knew you would know the way in which to do it.
