Kim Alexander
Hi, I know you recommend a desktop for editing, but a laptop is more practical for me. I have been looking to buy a new one. I have looked at the other posts here regarding recommendations. I am looking at these two and would just like to know which of the two you would suggest? The specs on both are very similar, however the Asus does not look like an IPS screen, it is an anti-glare screen. The Lenovo stipulates that it is IPS. https://www.evetech.co.za/asus-fx553vd-core-i5-gtx-1050-gaming-laptop-deal-with-16gb-ram/laptops-for-sale/4568.aspx https://www.evetech.co.za/lenovo-legion-y520-gtx-1050-gaming-laptop-deal/laptops-for-sale/5279.aspx Thanks Kim
Damien Symonds
I did some searching on other sites, and yes, it doesn't look like that ASUS has an IPS screen. Pity, because the IPS screens in ASUS laptops which do have them are amazing. I love mine. It calibrates so beautifully.
Kim Alexander
Thanks, The other Asus laptops that have IPS are a bit out of my budget. Would you suggest the Lenovo out of these two then?
Kim Alexander
My husband did more searching for me and he has found an Asus with an IPS screen at the same price as the other two laptops I had metioned. It is only 8gig ram, but is upgradeable so I think this would be my best option? https://www.wootware.co.za/asus-rog-gl553vd-dm548t-intel-core-i5-7300hq-2-5ghz-15-6-full-hd-1920x1080-8gb-1x8gb-ddr4-2400mhz-1tb-5400rpm-hdd-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1050-4gb-gddr5-windows-10-home-gaming-notebook.html
Brian
That should work. I like the ASUS "Republic of Gamers" line for photo editing purposes. Their screens are decent.
