No, I mean, is 6500 what you chose when calibrating? 2 minutes ago, Flipper196 said: Is maybe this the problem? No. https://www.damiensymonds.net/2014/07/proof-setup-working-cmyk-not-really.html
Flipper196 Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 No, I checked 'do not adjust' like suggested in your post....
Flipper196 Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 Are these settings right? Mpix wrote that I should put under color Management policies/ RGB: convert to working RGB and not what I have 'Preserve embedded Profile'
Damien Symonds Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Never mess with that window. Up the top where it says "Custom", change it back to "North America General Purpose 2". Then press OK to close that window, and never open it again. 1 minute ago, Flipper196 said: Mpix wrote that I should put under color Management policies/ RGB: convert to working RGB and not what I have 'Preserve embedded Profile' This is very bad advice, but sadly, lots of labs give it. It's easier for them to do it, than to actually educate their clients about colour management.
Flipper196 Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 Ok thank you!! Will never open it again ? they will resend the pics because she said they might have mistakenly checked the color corrections though I didn't check it....what else can I do?
Damien Symonds Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Oh gosh! Yeah, if they've been inadvertently "colour corrected" that renders them useless for calibration checking.
Flipper196 Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 Yes let's see...but most of the pictures I send to my iPad etc are also more saturated...how do I set up Photoshop to be less saturated? Just over calibrating the monitor? Sorry to bug you with this but I am really struggling here and so afraid that clients come back and complain about their yellow and oversaturated pics ?
Damien Symonds Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 You don't set up Photoshop to be less saturated. We have to get it representing the prints exactly, so that you don't EDIT them too saturated.
Flipper196 Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 yes, that's right, but what did I do wrong while calibrating it today that it still looks even less saturated than the prints and less than the calibration before? I calibrated in a dark room like you suggested. Brightness was set to 92. everything else according to your suggestions. I am at my wits end...Can you come over LOL
Damien Symonds Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Hang on, aren't you getting reprints?
Flipper196 Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 yeah but I checked my order there was no color corrections on....So I guess she wanted to get home or something and shut me up haha
Damien Symonds Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Now I'm confused. Are you, or are you not, getting reprints?
Flipper196 Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 I am getting reprints but after she wrote that I checked my order and it says 'color conversion NONE' but she didn't reply back when I wrote her this, so I guess she went home from work. So that cannot be the problem though I hoped it would be....
Damien Symonds Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Can you post them here? The files you sent to the lab, I mean.
Flipper196 Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 Yes I will send them, this is the order and I will upload the pictures...
Flipper196 Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 these are all the files I sent to the lab These look a lot on here more like the prints, but they look way less saturated in PS....Maybe that helps?
Flipper196 Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 But I used Firefox before I got this new computer and had the same problems with my laptop (Photoshop colors look way different than anywhere else)...I hoped that it would go away with the new computer LOL....

Flipper196 Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 I have but I wasn't sure if I should do it, so I will do it now....
Flipper196 Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 (edited) Ok, just to be super stupid question: I compare the prints in the first step with the pictures opened in Photoshop not on the computer right!? I know stupid question but who knows.... i also have a little trouble comparing the brightness since the prints are more yellow but not necessarily darker or brighter.... Damien Symonds Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Oh, I remembered another important question. Do your raw photos look exactly the same between ACR and Photoshop?
