dirty feet

Her feet got dirty leaping in the road I have tried a layers adjustment to fix it but seem to only make the foot look chalky and washed out.  Maybe I am going about this all wrong.  any help is very much appreciated.

Try adding a Levels layer, and move the middle slider on each of the three channels:

• Red channel 2.50
• Green channel 1.50
• Blue channel 1.35

Then invert the mask and paint on gently where needed.

WOW just wow how do you do it.   I still need to tidy up the masking but this is amazing!
