SueRoberts
Happy New Year Damien! I was dabbling a bit with restoring some old photos and was wondering if I could your opinion? Here is a before and after of a roller coaster. Were you planning on doing any classes on photo restoration? If so, I would definitely be interested. Damien Symonds
Oh gee, I wish you'd asked me before you started. Google "fourier transform filter photoshop"

SueRoberts
So, here it is on top of the original photo with no other enhancements done on it. Should I have converted it to Black & White first and then run the filter?
Damien Symonds
No, the filter should convert it to black-and-white anyway. Is that what happened?
SueRoberts
I guess so. It converted it to some weird pattern thing with colors but I went to the red channel and used a black brush on the stars that they say aren't suppose to be there and then when I was done I clicked on the IFFT filter to get it back to what you see above. I don't really like it. The texture that was on the photo is the real texture of the original photo. I'm not sure if I really want to get rid of it since it's actually part of the photo. Plus it made the photo darker. Do you know what I mean? I was asking if you thought the adjustments I made so far looked okay. So, ignoring the texture in the photo, is there anything else I could do to the photo? Any advice?
Damien Symonds
Trust me, you want to get rid of it. It looks AWFUL if you try to reprint it.
